I am 30 and have been a strong local runner for years. I have started lifting weights to gain muscle mass and for general health. I still love to run, but am no longer interested in training to race at my peak. I don't want to give up running, but my focus right now is the weights. I want to get stronger and bigger. Critique my plan:
Day 1: 5xMAX chinups, 4x4 deadlift 3xMAX widegrip pullups.
Day 2: run by feel, up to 1hr
Day3: 5x3 bench press, 5x5 back squat, 4x6 OH press, 4xMAX pushups.
Day 4: run by feel, up to 1hr.
Day 5: 5x3 weighted chinups, 4x8 Deadlift, 3x10 barbell rows
Day 6: run by feel, up to 1hr.
Day 7: 4x10 bench press, 5x5 back squat, 4x6 OH press, pushup pyramid.
Day 8: run by feel, up to 1hr.
Repeat!
