Did you ask him if he is doping and if so what with?
Good interview.
Is he racing the US Olympic Trials? I assume that he is racing for Thailand in the Olympics regardless, but can he also race in the US Trials? What are the rules regarding this? I know at least in cross country skiing, you can have guest athletes race in US Championships.
I think the shoes are masking any potential medical doping regimes. And because of that people are just saying "well it's the shoes."
I watched much of the Lake Biwa Marathon again last night, and they had several side-view shots that were a bit amusing.
Those guys weren't running, as much as they were bouncing across the ground. Not a single stride looked natural, everyone appeared to be overstriding, and the cadence was off all over the place, none of it appearing normal.
It's the shoes.
I’d love to see comparisons of side views of the lead packs stride from this year compared to 2 or 3 years ago. Too lazy to do it myself though.

Yes, he will be representing Thailand. I think Thailand mainly requires that you hit the time standard in order to make their team.
As for USATF, you must be eligible to represent Team USA in order to participate at the Trials. Per the 2016 guidance:
"Only citizens of the United States who are eligible to represent the United States in an International competition under United States Olympic Committee and International Olympic Committee rules are eligible to compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials. Athletes who have questions concerning their citizenship, including dual citizens, should contact USATF's Legal Affairs Manager"

What kind of stupid question is that?

A sensible one that anyone with a brain should be asking. The question isn't IF, but how and with what. No doubt he is doping.

The Tuntivator would laugh at your stupidity.
I thought the interview was pretty flat. Usually LRC interviews are better. Maybe the difference is (any) involvement of KT's management company? Also, how do you pronounce his last name -- does it rhyme with skate or potty?

I'm with Peppermint Patty. It's an excellent question. Don't bother posting 'He's never failed a test.' He's never passed one either, has he? Sure as heck ain't being tested at BTC intramural 'races'.
Of course hes doping, and also wearing those clever shoes. How else does a 13.5 5000 runner go close to 27 minutes? no doubt he'll run a 13 flat 5000 meters soon, which is an otherworldy improvement. Its a mix of the shoes, plus EPO use.
Did anybody listed to the LR podcast? His 13.57 PR is from 2019 and his coach thought he was in shape to run at least 13.25 last year. It's really good improvement but not outside the realm of possibility for 2 years of progress.

His last name rhymes more with "skate". Yes, his last name is not so easy to pronounce for non-Thais. Most Thai names do not translate phonetically easy into English. I believe his first name is of Irish origin.
คีริน ตันติเวทย์ (อังกฤษ: Kieran Tuntivate)
Here are two attempts to try to make it easier for non-Thai speakers to pronounce his last name correctly.
1) TUN tee Wate
2) Tanti Wait
