I should note that I think Marc Scott will eventually break 13, but it’s going to come on Cheptegei’s or somebody similar’s train at a Diamond League race. Not in a BS early season meet.

And how many perfectly set up races do Schumacher's guys have to run before you understand that the way for North Americans to run fast isn't to go on a suicide mission behind some 12:30 guy, then die a horrible death in no mans land? If you want to run 12:55 you should have rabbits set up for 13:00 pace then let guys wind it up over the last couple laps. That's exactly how all the BTC races have worked and it's why people have run so damn fast. Same reason why Cardinal is often the fastest meet of the year in terms of large numbers of people running fast.
