It should be illegal to make a 3:55 mile win look this easy lol.

I’m more curious as to who the BYU guy is! Never heard of Lucas Bons

Wow. Just looked him up. Bons ran 4:09 in 2018 as a high schooler. Then goes on a 2 year mission and runs 3:55?
Supershoes or not that might be more impressive than Hobbs Kessler.
video?
+1
Think I messed up on the first link I posted, trying one more time.
Shouldn't Tanner's 1500 from NBIGP get him into NCAAs?
Not 100% sure but I think it had to be a mile time, so people had be saying that he wasn’t qualified for nationals yet
Then he did this so problem solved
any free videos?

No 1500m converted to mile for NCAA qualifying, got to run the full distance
Tanner has an unusual physique/stride. Can't really put it to words.
Anyway, I didn't think it looked to me like he was jogging. I think he was digging deep. He's just an efficient stride.
Textbook efficiency imo

Did you see the part where Andy Powell said he told him he needed a 29” last lap and Tanner smiled at him? Just curious.
His 3:34.72i from the NBIGP x1.08 = 3:51.9, but that was in a real race against pros in which he negative-split and soundly beat Craig Engels. He is the favorite for the NCAA indoor mile, IMO.

wejo are you familiar with the progression of Paul Cummings, Henry Marsh, Ed Eyestone, Doug Padilla?--you guys probably have no clue of what went on in running prior to 2000 or so. But look them up. Or ask malmo.

I will tell you who he reminds me of - Muktar Edris or if you want to go way back, Worku Bikila.
Kind of runs "low in the saddle", kind of a shuffley stride - he just has that consistently strong turnover. He looks like he could be a fantastic XC runner and ultimately 5000m guy.
I would assume that he was on a 2 year mission for his church. That is what many of the BYU guys seem to do. I am pretty sure Casey Clinger did the same thing

Bons didn't run big mileage in HS, and he was a bit overshadowed by the best ever distance graduating class Ohio has ever seen in 2018, but those of us who know Lucas knew this was coming. He was on a 4x800 indoor HS national championship team with his brother Zach. Still an impressive run for him, but he's a stud and about the best kid you could ever meet.

Yes, Bons was away on a two-year mission.

Reminds me of Gabe Jennings stride. It looks unusual but once you analyze it you see it is exceptionally efficient.
