He must not have been wearing the shoes.
The announcer at the track when talking about Claudia Hollingsworth said that before the 5 k races started she had asked her coach - who is Craig Mottrom - if he had ever run a track 5k! Track announcer also mentioned that she is mainly focused on playing womens AFL (Aussie rules football) and only squeezes in a couple of running training sessions a week around her footy committments....sounded like she could be yet another track talent that Australia loses to footy.

By this you mean mid to late 90s.

If Stewy goes with Soulman and Musagala in the 3-4-5 chase pack, he could grab the bronze holding off a Centro.
.
Centrowitz will not make the Olympic final and I wouldn't be surprised if he did not even make the Olympic team.
Was windy and cold and he kept clutching at his leg in the last 1K ...
Wait, he didn’t run a 10 second PB?
I’m shocked.

He's always been something of a distracted racer. Even in his 1500's his hands are all over the place, fidgeting with his bib, touching his legs, etc. Not saying it's a bad thing, but definitely not typical behavior.
if you read the edit, I meant MARCIN L
regardless, Centro will make the Olympic team, and he is a savvy racer - if hes fit he'll make the final.

"Yep, that was more of a mistype, I meant Marcin L. Let me rephrase:
A - Tim and Jakob going for gold
B - Chase group: McSweyn, Filip, Tefera, Soulman, Kwemoi, GBR trio Grice, Kerr, Wightman, maybe Centro
C - Kick group: Lewandowski, maybe this older version of Makhloufi, Engels, Centro depending on tactics
I think Centro, a year stronger, will try going with the chase group like he attempted to in Doha. "

A. I agree, Barring illness or injury.
C. I agree McSweyn must be in the mix for a medal but.......
Filip has to prove that his 3:40 1500m in Lievin recently was a fallout. An Filip didn´t reach the final in Doha!
Tefera hasn´t run really fast since his indoor WR in the 1500m in early 2019. He didn´t reach the final in Doha and he tends to fade in the high season.
Kwemoi (officially 26) hasn´t run fast since Doha 2019 and haven´t competed in about a year.
Charlie Grice may have a problem with UK Athletics accepting his trainer. He didn´t qualify for the British team to Doha 2019 failing to replicate his 3:30 earlier that season.
Joss Kerr have been absent for a while so it is uncertain how his shape is.
Wightman seems to be a medal contender too due to his 2020 season and early 2021.
C. As stated in other threads I doubt that Centro and Engels can qualify to the US 1500m team and even if they do It must be very unlikely that they can reach the final.
Centro just only managed to reach the final in Doha 2019. He is now 2 years older, didn´t compete seriously in 2020 so it is unlikely that he can come close to his SB high 3:32 from 2019 again.
Engels is just not fast enough. He ran 3:35 in DL Monaco 2020 ; 7 seconds behind Timothy and Jakob and more than 6 seconds after Wightman. His performances in the 2021 indoor season don´t indicate any improvement.
Lewandowski seems to be over the hill. His SB 2020 in the 1500m was 2.5 seconds behind his PB from 2019.
It must be very uncertain if Makhloufi is coming back once more time. He has been absent since Doha.
Souleiman and Musagala have been mentioned in another post. None of them qualified for the final in Doha and none of them has been competing since then.
-----------------
I think that more likely participants for an Olympic 1500m final (apart from Timothy, Jakob, Wightman and McSweyn) could be:
Oliver Hoare if he can follow up on his impressive 3:32 recently
Teare and Hocker if they can run equally fast in the outdoor 1500m as in their indoor mile.
Samuel Tanner
Charles Hunter
-------------------
By the way: Lewandowski, Filip and Jakob have a chance to show some good times from tomorrow until sunday in the European Indoor Championships.
They are all running both the 3000m and the 1500m. Starting thursday evening with the qualifier for the 3000m.
Jakob has learned his lesson and will solo 3:30 to avoid lewandowski's strong finishing kick. Should be a fun race to watch.
