I am starting to enjoy Australian race coverage much more than the US content. It just seems so wholesome.
May I ask where you all are/were streaming this, or if there are live results? Thanks!

2004-2006 was peak doping imo.
In his doco, Mottram insinuated that he knew the East Africans were doping and he couldn’t compete.
Shortly after, injuries and a quick retirement.
Just sayin’

American stuff is all so disjointed and behind a paywall. I never know what paywall it's behind and the meets seem to spring up randomly every year and then never return again, and it's always a bit random who is racing and who isn't. I guess because everything in America is done privately it makes it hard... but what does USATF do with all its money? I have no doubt they have a bigger budget than Athletics Australia, but does USATF even put on any events? All the big ones like Pre and NBIGP seem to be put on by companies...

Well you can hardly say that subsequent facts (i.e. 150 Kenyan doping busts) have proven him wrong.
Any updated results links? I'd rather see that than a bunch of letsrun trolls argue.

Yeah he was off the AR by 3k, but still with 2 laps to go was at 10:58 or so. With his close sub 13 still seemed on the cards but pretty quickly it was apparent he was gassed. So what event(s) does he do in the games now? All the guys he'd be trying to beat in the 5k have shown they can close in sub 4 or close to it off of a 7:4x 3k. is the 1500 his best shot knowing it may not be that tactical?
I still think he can do such a close, tonight just wasn’t the night for him. Those guys are mostly running those performances in paced races like Jerryworld or the Brussels DL, and the sub 13 w/ sub 4 close hasnt seen the new Stewy yet. I think he’s capable of close to what Edris did in Doha oh his best day.
But the 3:30mid 1500 was very intriguing. Right now, I doubt anyone can stay with Tim besides Jakob. If Stewy goes with Soulman and Musagala in the 3-4-5 chase pack, he could grab the bronze holding off a Centro.
Though his 5000 potential is stronger, the 1500 right now places him higher in the world for that event and better positioned for what the championship tactics may be.
Yeah, given that the 15 most likely won't be tactical I think his best chance of a medal might be in that event. The 5k is going to be too stacked and also won't be tactical. I see Stewy as being a threat in a 15 that's honest from the gun, as he's currently one of the top-3-5 in the world in a time trial type race IMHO. I'm not sure I see a Centro running a 3:29-3:30 at this point in his career.

Yep, that was more of a mistype, I meant Marcin L. Let me rephrase:
A - Tim and Jakob going for gold
B - Chase group: McSweyn, Filip, Tefera, Soulman, Kwemoi, GBR trio Grice, Kerr, Wightman, maybe Centro
C - Kick group: Lewandowski, maybe this older version of Makhloufi, Engels, Centro depending on tactics
I think Centro, a year stronger, will try going with the chase group like he attempted to in Doha.

Peak doping the operative words. As amazing as Mottram’s sub-3:49 and 12:55 were, his best performance came in 2007 when he ran 8:03.5 for two miles. That is a sub-7:29 3000 equivalent (and @ 12:50 for 5000).
I hope Stewy can match him.

Another +1 for the 1500 being his best medal bet. But he seems like the kind of guy who could run 3:29-30 for bronze but also risk being run out of qualification in a 3:44 semi.

Stewy already has not only matched but beaten that 8:03 "best performance" by running a 7:28 flat.
Mottram's 2 mile = 7:27.67 https://www.milesplit.com/calc?time=8%3A03.50&event=2Mile

Peak doping? Does Nic Bideau think like that?

Or does 8:03.5 = 7:28.7 and 7:28.0 = 8:02.8? The world may never know.
https://caltaf.com/pointscalc/calc.htmlCorrect. The point was that he did not beat it. Too many people try to take a 1500 or 3k and assume the pace will be held through a mile or 2 mile which is what the poster did.
Mottram's 2 mile=7:27.2 by 1.08 factor.
I was at the track last night and Stewie was solo from ~2800m onwards and the wind gusts were pretty noticeable at track side - it was not blowing a gale but the wind was definitely a factor. It was also pretty cold (maybe 13 degrees C at most). His form looked good until around the 4k mark when he noticably seemed to start straining. His final lap was a 65 so he was clearly cooked at that point.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
