We are what we are because we’re meat eaters.

If we all converted to vegetarians vast herds of cows, pigs, and sheep would have to be canceled. That’s the opposite of immortal and not likely moral.
If animals didn’t want to be eaten, then why are they so tasty?
Why should you have to defend it morally? It's nature. Survival of the fittest. Eat or be eaten.
When you die, YOU will be eaten too. Including by some of those plants you probably think are so innocent.
If it wasn't for meat, there would be far less animals in the world.
If a life isn't worth living, just because it contains some suffering, well then human life isn't worth living either.
God gave us meat to eat, but you probably don't believe in God because you are a left wing fool.

Plants are not sentient. Additionally, we have to eat something. On the basis of what is necessary for human survival it is less morally wrong to eat plants than animals. Of course one could go the path of jainism and only eat plants that are already starting to die such as an apple once it has fallen from the tree but not before. Though this is not possible to sustain an entire country on. However, it is possible for all or at least the majority of Americans to survive with no animal meat.
Some people are vegetarian because they like animals. I am vegetarian because I HATE plants.
I surely hope this tread gets cancelled. All it shows is the stupidity of LRC posters, who have had too soft of a life. Just think back to the Depression and let me know wheter you would worry about eating meat being immoral.....I would think the question would ever enter your mind as you wonder where you next meal would be coming from.
All of you have had it way too easy in this world. And if you now propose we all eat fake meat, just take a look at the ingredients listing for that crap make believe food. Talk about immoral....ugh!

I say this as a hypocritical meat eater. Any way you slice it, eating meat is immortal.
If you think you have a convincing argument otherwise, I'm all ears. But I've heard them all.
Why immoral? Evolution made us omnivores.
Explain yourself.
It's so delicious

All that veganism & animal rights stuff is left wing ideology. Lol. It's not good enough that they just eat that way but their agenda is to force veganism on everyone else and save the animals.

Predatory animals have no ability to produce food other than to kill other animals. Humans do. It is not necessary for our survival to grow billions of animals which live a short terrible life before we slaughter them.
I agree about not giving animals a terrible life before we slaughter them. Feed them well, give them a good life, then slaughter them. Pay it forward by giving more animals good lives, it's the cycle of life. Is that really worse than an animal out in nature who barely struggles to get buy and then is eaten by another animal? It's not, I don't know where people get the idea that it's only immoral for humans to eat other animals. This idea always relies on circular logic.
Why is eating meat wrong?
Because I say it is.
Why do you say it is?
Because it's wrong.
I have never seen someone give a true morally pragmatic take on vegetarianism, which as an idea really doesn't live up to the morals that it claims. Crop harvesting kills the animals living in the fields, and requires farmers to control animal populations and use pesticides to keep their crops alive - why is that okay, but it's not okay to eat animals? Vegetarians tend to just be extremely confused people who think with their emotions with no logical consistency.
The human digestive system is designed to process fauna as well as flora. You don't have a four-chambered stomach or a crop. And humans are the only animal ( or in some cases vegetable) that possesses a conception of morality where eating (or anything else) is concerned.

I’ll never understand cancel culture. Who cares if someone posts something that you define as stupid? This thread is perfectly appropriate regardless of where you sit on the meat eating divide.
F'in A. If God didn't want us to eat animals why'd he make 'em out of meat?
If animals don’t wanna be eaten, why are they made out of FOOD.
But as a serious argument, house cats need meat or else they will die. If you don’t feed the cat, the cat will die, if you do feed the cat, a different animal will need to die. The existence of a cat demands that an animal must die. Is it immoral for cats to exist? Of course not, so I think it follows that eating animals can’t be immoral.
Eating meat allowed most of our brains, possibly not yours, to grow to the point where you can go on a forum that came about from the huge leaps in intelligence and whine about others eating meat
As an omnivore, I have no problem eating animals every once in a while. I do object to them being raised in horrible conditions, which frankly I think are unnecessary. Its done for profit and nothing else. In more traditional societies, to this day, most animals range free and live decent lives.
The reality is we can never grow enough vegetables to feed the planet.
And vegans only claim a superior hand because they have justified that plants are ok being harvested. Most plants we eat haven't reached full maturity and haven't had a chance to do what plants do..grow fruits or seeds and reproduce.
Its like everything else in life..eat all things in moderation.
