Bush, Postell, Vess, then Henes

well, then good on Vess...that was a dramatically lower time!!

I believe Bush had a decent 800 time in the past. 3000 isn't until Saturday...maybe they let Tuohy run the 1200 since she would get the extra day rest this time. Henes must have done the anchor.
Decent time...although the SEC DMR earlier today had 4 teams under that time
If Dom and Marlee were healthy, that would be the best DMR in the country!
Unfortunately, even with all healthy, they need to find a faster 4 and 8 to stay w Ark, Stanford and Oregon. Hats off to the group though, looks like they all pr'd, even Henes!

Where do you think those girls would give them significantly better times? Assuming they got a 208 800 tonight, none of their distance runners have ever gone faster than that I don't think
Maybe they get a second or two better at the 1200. Not a major difference though. NC State would probably win though if they had like a 10 girl DMR, as they have a lot of pretty fast mid-distance runners.
Good to see Haleigh Morales, Tuohy's teammate at N. Rockland, in the 3000. Unfortunately a different section than Tuohy. I didn't know she had picked B.C. Funny they wind up having a reunion 700-800 miles from home in Clemson, SC.
What would be considered great splits for the women's DMR?
I'm thinking something like 3:20, 54, 204, 432.

To be competitive nationally you likely have to be under 11. In 2019 the NCAA winning splits of Oregon were 3:26, 52.8, 203.5, and 4:30.8.
Top 4 teams were below 11.
If I remember, their 1200 leg was well back in the pack and then the 400 and 800 got them back near the front....their anchor was Jessica Hull....so that was that

Good question! Remember I’m assuming health and what I believe is realistic potential here if they went after a National title, naturally they are not, but below is what I think NC State could do if they were healthy and trying for a title:
Starliper 3:20
Mia D’Ambrosio 55
Clairmonte or Nevada Moreno 2:06
Elly Henes 4:31
TOTAL- 10;53
I think there are a lot of options and interchangeable parts as well to get this if everyone is healthy.......Nevada could go 2:04 as well in 800m leg, Tuohy and Starliper based on Mile times and 1000m times could both run the 1200m leg or go 2:06 in 800m leg, and Henes, Starliper, Tuohy, Moreno could all be the 1200m and 1600m leg.
Will have to wait now to next year with all the health problems this season to see if they can do it!
You have just raised the central issue of all these ladies' college discussions - getting the star high school recruits to the start line healthy and fit.
Henes gone after this year. (4:33 from yesterday pr)
D'Ambrosio best 400 split is 57.9.
The 2:08 split from yesterday was best split NC State ever had.
So yes, potential of 2-3 great legs from Starliper, Tuohy, Clairmonte, Moreno et al sounds great, but they actually have to show up and do it.
The track power schools always have the 53 205 legs, so distance programs like NC St, BYU and CU have to overcome that.
Vess and Bush have stepped their game up - just went 1-2 in the mile qualifier in 4:47:7 or so

Nice to see! I’m still blown away that yes ran 208 in the 800 leg of the DMR. Pretty sure that is significantly below her personal best.
Hope they do well
What are you what are you basing those 800m times on? I don't think any of those girls have ever ran anything close to that for 800! I'm pretty sure Katelyn Tuohy and Marlee starliper never ran faster than 209. Maybe starliper ran a 208 and Change And those are both distance runners who ran PRS for the mile of 434 and 437 So I don't think those girls you mentioned have ever broken 440 for a mile and considering their distance runners I doubt they're breaking 209
How many teams make indoor Nationals for the DMR? What was the splits for NC State?

In 2019 I counted 12 teams in the field. I believe 3:28, 57.5 ish, 2:08, 4:34
12 teams in relays an 16 individuals.

So how come they pulled Katelyn Tuohy? She probably could have gone 323, maybe faster, if it was a Bank track.
Ahh maybe it's better to take it slow after the injury, so what's going on with the rest of the weekend? Is Katelyn Tuohy running the 3K? Is henes running? Anyone else from NC State?

Who knows? It seems having Bush lead off inspired Vess lol. Tuohy and Henes are supposed to be in 3,000 Saturday. Bush and Vess both made the mile final so 3 races for them in 3 days. Maybe they are counting on Tuohy for NCAA XC and are managing her load. Maybe they want to give Tuohy a chance to qualify for NCAA 3,000. I am sure the coach has a good plan.
