I really like some of Tracksmith's offerings and have been trying to purchase some items from them, but it seems that a lot of their stock is completely unavailable. When I asked about it, they said they won't restock anything until 'Spring.' I wonder if they are either (1) not doing so well or (2) [more likely] purposely keeping stock of desirable items low so as to generate more interest once anything becomes available. I think that, if (2) is what they are doing, that type of marketing strategy will not work. It is not nice to customers. Perhaps they would say that COVID has disrupted their supply chains. Be that as it may (probably true to some extent), these types of shortages were present on their site prior to the pandemic as well. In case anyone at Tracksmith is reading this and has the power to change things (short of their having issues with their balance sheets/free cash flow), it would be nice if things changed in regards to their chronic stock issues. It is a very poor marketing strategy for a company in this particular field (although it is often used to generate interest and make people thing one's items are high-end). I hope that is not their intent. Just to be clear, my interactions with them have always been very nice - their employees are cordial and helpful. In any case, I'll probably not purchase from them anymore if this type of stuff continues, but I'm just one individual. I hope they do well either way.
