Ok so they run fast times at these perfectly staged time trials in perfect weather and get paced perfectly for 90% of the race by perfect and pretty world class athletes, but I’m scratching my head as to the last time any of them have actually competed in an unscripted competition.
Will BTC ever compete in an actual track meet?

Probably not compete, but Bitcoin could be used to fund a meet.

It's not really their fault that the only runners in the country that can compete with them are all on the same club.
They invited King Ches, Reid Buchannenn and Ben True, and only Ben True was able to even finish the race. Who else in the USA could run low 27:10s in February? -
Hunter.

Hunter could run sub 27:20? Really? -
No doubt.

Yeah, what's the point in doing a regular race if you know that you're going to crush the competition? If they did a different race, they would:
1. Be exposing themselves to more people/more potential to get covid
2. Be in a race with people who are way slower than sub 27:15
Which leaves them with two options: Either they run a race where the other competitors are with them till 8-9k and then blow their doors off the last 1k, or they can try to go out at 27:25 pace again and have to be moving around all of the people they're lapping, which will only slow down their time.
It really seems like a lose-lose situation for them. Of course, as fans we want to see the athletes go against each other, but outside of BTC/the people in that race, who in the US would have even been in the mix in that race for the last 1k? There's only been 11 USA runners under 27:40 since 2016, and BTC had 4 runners go under 27:15 last night. Pretty much anyone on that level in the US was in that race. Even Cheserek couldn't handle it. -

lol yeah
I don't think 13:18 = 27:20. -
Tuntivate 13:57 = 27:17

When did Tuntitivate run 13:57? Hunter ran that a month and a half ago :/ -
He ran 7:48 two weeks ago which isn't as impressive as Hunter's performances. You shouldn't have tried to play this equivalency game. Imagine had I told you a few days ago that Tuntivate would run 27:XX. Everyone on these boards would have lost their minds saying I was crazy. But Hunter running 27:20 is 100 times more realistic than that but you still are questioning that as even being possible.

A week ago Hunter was dropped running 3:40. Tuntivate has been training with BTC. 5k is much more a measure of 10k ability than the 3k or 1500 is, so I'm not sure why you're trying to play the equivalency game with 5k times in the first place. I'm just pointing out facts.
Hey, maybe you could run 27:20 next week too! Since Tuntivate did it, anyone can! -
Why don't you respond to birdman. He is the one who said Hunter couldn't do it because his 5k doesn't quite get him there. I pointed out that Tuntivate has absolutely no equivalent times. That's it. Maybe Hunter could run 26:59 tomorrow.

Perhaps you shouldn't compare a relative newcomer like Tuntivate to an established pro like Hunter, who has raced more than once this year. -
Good point. It is way more likely that Hunter could drop a 26:59 than a newcomer could drop a 27:17.

Purposely avoiding the point is poor form, champ. -

Training with BTC, hmm, special sauce? -
While Hunter will always be squeaky clean.
