LOL! He was bleeding. Have you ever been in a fight? "Here, now that I have you in a chokehold that you're trying to escape from and stomp me and my brother into the ground, let me tell you about why you should not continue assaulting me..."
LOL! Goodnight. Again, wtf. How do people think like you?
We'll see what happens. The D.A. and the police are not LR tough guys and might see it as a vicious assault and not self-defense.

Oh I have no doubt the Good Ol Boys from the Norman PD are going to throw the book at the innocent MMA victims. Same old story out of Norman as always. Baker Mayfield probably is paying for Spencer's all-star legal defense.

Oh malmo, you're so gosh darn funny. What a hoot and a holler. Great observation. Such a trenchant wit. Thanks for being so clever.

So is every fight a fight to the death? How does it ever end?
The sequence of physical altercation is clear. Jean jacket guy pushes MMA guy. MMA guy sucker punches football guy then sustains his attack. I'm no lawyer and we don't know what happened before the video, but that looks like aggravated assault by the MMA guy to me.

Wow. What does it say about our society that instead of trying to stop the fight, in the year 2021, everyone's first instinct is to grab their phone and give play by play for twitter.
It's like people almost think it's virtual and not real.
Because you don't step into a fight.
What you and some others here don’t seem to understand is when you fight, you fight 100% until there is no longer a threat.
It’s common sense.
Don’t pick a fight and you won’t have to worry if the other guy is a trained fighter.
Side note: if the guy cared at all about his football career he wouldn’t be there at the bar in the first place.
I've seen that 'advice' a lot from Internet tough guys. In their mind, I'm sure, people getting beaten to death is a natural consequence of picking a fight. Not sure I want to participate in their psychopathic world, but to each their own.
But true, you probably don't want to pick a fight with a little-man-syndrome MMA fighter who has been waiting his entire life to beat the heck out of someone in public for disrespecting him. Good on the little guy for getting his wish. Seems like a very well-adjusted person. I'm sure he's very successful in life in other ways.
You are making a lot of assumptions about the guy without any context surrounding the fight. You don’t know what transpired before this.
So what should be the logical conclusion of a fight? There is no ref, no bell, no scorecards. Are you suggesting he should have punched him once and then turned his back on the guy? Or maybe you think he should have tried to calm him down while they were both on the ground?
It’s clear you have no experience in combat sports or even minor conflict at all. I’ll say it again, you fight until the fight is won and they no longer lose a threat to you or others.

I don't need to know the context to understand the psychology of a short male who has trained in MMA for 10 years. Was it a little too recognizable?
How does one "lose a threat to you or others"? I assume you mean, "pose" instead of "lose". That's fine, I understand that your no doubt vast experience in combat sports has knocked out some of the finer points of spelling.
However, we can start with a little basic logic. Combat sports shouldn't have any application in this primal fight, as you so wisely pointed out. Once any minor conflict is initiated, one needs to take every possible action in order to win the fight and make sure the aggressor no longer poses any threat to you or others. Not very much like combat sports. Oh, you mean that training in combat sports gives you the edge when some unsuspecting numbskull decides to disrespect you in public so you can beat the tar out of him. Ah, yeah. Huh, weird. Almost like what I said.
Lol clown, you got me on a spelling mistake. Kudos to you.
You seem to be fixated on this “little man.” The football player is 6’1”. The fighter is probably about average height. And you are saying everyone under a certain height is predisposed to violence?
You also owe saying this is over disrespect. You have no idea what went on down here or who starred what. Keep your bias to yourself. And yes, if someone has training and finds themselves in a fight, I 100% support them using that training.
The principles of distance and the reactionary gap clearly apply here but you keep focusing on how bad one guy got whipped.
Keep* and started* before you hop on that instead of making a logical argument. Can’t all afford good phone screens like you can, oh wise one

Seems kind of effed up to me. There shouldn't be MMA guys getting in bar fights and they should have been up front about their training. It looked like the guy was really trying to hurt Jones and it didn't look like self-defense. If he had lost the eye it would have cost him a possible NFL career. There is an investigation under way and hopefully the MMA brothers will be arrested.

Actually, to someone with an IQ over 80, it looked like the scumbag football player had probably already punched or slapped the MUCH-smaller kid in the face (hence the fact that the kid looks to be wiping blood off his mouth, and appears to have a bruise on his face) right before the vid starts, and was continuing to harrass, mock, provoke, and shove the much-smaller kid, at which point the much-smaller kid finally decides he's had enough, and proceeds to beat the living sh*t out of the loud-mouthed a**hole football player.
But you go right ahead with the dumbest possible take.
My guess is the loud-mouthed a**hole football player has probably had this kind of thing coming for a very long time. He finally learned an incredibly powerful lesson.
Maybe he'll start to act like a little more of a human being now?
And if his stupidity interferes with his football career, I guess that's just a tragedy the human race will have to somehow live with. Oh well.
Oh, I'm not nearly as funny as a clown. But thanks for the kudos. I appreciate your acknowledgment.
Nah, not all little guys. Although small-man-syndrome does exist. Little guys like this one are obviously predisposed to violence. Hence what we see happened.
I wouldn't say no idea. A little bit of basic psychology, a video of what happened, the statements of the adorable little brawlers themselves. Flip-side of assuming a tabula rasa - a poor philosophical choice anyway - is that you have no idea what happened either.
You inhabit an interesting world.
The fighter speaks. He's not really that small himself:

Me love you long time too.
Statistics from about ten years ago.
16,000 murders per year
61.4 percent clearance (9800)
That means 6200 murderers never get caught PER YEAR
Average time served for murder is 7 years (FBI stats) so every year approx. 4900 murderers more who've served time for murder are being released back on the streets after earning advanced degrees in anti-social behavior.
You do the math: combine the number of unsolved murderers, with the release of those who've served time in prison for murder. Factor in the recidivism rate for violent offenders (well over 60 percent) and the product is not pretty.
Guess where all of these killers assemble on Friday and Saturday night? Not church, that's for sure. The chance of one of them being in a bar that you’re in is high.
The chance of getting in a barfight with a football player is low, but they’re not the ones to worry about. It’s those murderers who take offense when you bump into their elbow – that’s the problem.
Belligerent barflies and road ragers – don’t get into it with either. Nothing good can come out of it.

Do you even know what a sucker punch is? Because that wasn’t a sucker punch. Except tough football guy trying to intimidate a smaller guy turned out to be a sucker.
There's a video on youtube from a meaty guy who is about 6'6 and looks like Hulk Hogan, called how to win in a fight... and he simply turns and runs off like a sprinter.
