She missed a lot of training in the summer and fall due to a knee issue, and now has run in a race for the first time in 11 months. But I recall she ran 9:30 something in a 3,000 about 12 months ago, so no, not slower than ever. Give her time. -
Thanks, I wasn’t aware of her injury.

What's going on for the ACC Championship coming up this weekend?
Looks like you can just watch it on the ACC website?
I thought Katelyn look pretty good. I mean 9:19 is a pretty good time. Nothing to sneeze at. And considering her first racing weekend in about a year. 325 and 919 aren't bad times
Probably could have been closer to 9:15 with some better tactics
Couple of things also. You have to remember she used to always have some slower long races and then try to have some Peak performances. So in High School it wasn't uncommon for her to run several races that about 10 minutes or 10:20 and then gradually improve towards 9 minutes for one or two races a season
Also in high school she was doing two-a-day workouts. Not sure she's kept up that schedule for the last year. Which I think is great for her to just be a college athlete and seems like a really nice environment there. So gradually she'll have to decide if she wants to try to step up the training or just be a really good runner, along with academics and College life -

To be fair, in HS generally when she ran slow times it was intentional. The 3:25 and 9:19 looked like all she had in these recent races.
ACC DMR is on Thursday, mile prelims and 5,000 on Friday, and mile finals and 3,000 on Saturday. I wonder how they will split things up? DMR probably stronger if Shaw or Tuohy runs 800 and the other runs 1,200 with Henes on anchor but that will hurt Shaw in the mile. Bet we see Tuohy in 3,000 again. -
Agree with that...the 800 hurt them at the last meet . But they obviously have good options to mix things up. Not sure if they can threaten for the top though.
Tuohy certainly didn't have much left at the end of both races , looked like she gassed out towards the end of each. She had a few pacing issues, which is very understandable in her first NCAA meet, and simply appeared to not be up to race conditioning yet. 11 months off will do that to any runner. I actually thought her times were pretty good considering . Both were quite promising.
I would expect to see steady improvement as long as the injuries are past her...which I assume they are if her coach is letting her compete. Hopefully we will get to see Starliper join her soon as well. -
Guys it was a split-squad weekend for NC State. They had another meet somewhere else. And that's where most of their sprinters were. So I'd imagine they have a fast 800-meter Runner

True and maybe not so true - no signs of sprinters or mid distance at VT

Do we need a name lesson for dummies?
If you address an elite, get their name CLOSE to correct.
Katelyn Tuohy.
Katelyn Tuohy.
Katelyn Tuohy.
She's not Katlyn
OR Kaitlyn.
Or Caitlyn.
Or Caitlin.
Know your athletes before initiating a post. Sheesh. -
Not 1 400 run this year and only a 2:22 800.
-
My bad, I just figured that's where the sprinters were. They've got to have someone who can run a210 , 212 at worse. They'll have to call on one of their milers
Also who cares about spelling as long as we know what they mean, I thought it was done intentionally so it wouldn't be so scrutinized and moderated intensely -

Why not get their name correct?
Aren’t all of those “close to correct” like you would wish?
