Tears definitely crushes weights but is ectomorph and tall so he's able to keep a very lean physique while still be physically strong for his size. I bet he can crush the bench press impressively. To have speed you need strength physically.

I wish I were still as fit as these guys. I miss those days. I am sitting at my desk eating pretzels and feeling like a barge. Getting older sucks.
Right, those of us who ran in high school and college all looked that way, albeit 4" shorter and 20+ seconds slower. All while eating few salads and plenty of junk food, to include processed meat products. It's called high metabolism of youth combined with a high calorie burning hobby. Our coach measured our BF on occasion and I hit somewhere in the 7-8% range without even trying or thinking about it. Yeah, some moms might feel concerned yet we hardly ever got sick. Anyone who finds it shocking or problematic is outing themselves as green. This thread is further evidence that this place is swamped with joggers anymore.

Need an answer to this^
I think it's still possible in many cases to remain that fit, granted, injuries can take their toll. I am 46 and still pretty much in the same shape as college and because I run hurdles I need to be for that event. Cooper doesn't look unhealthy to me , he looks like high school and collegiate athletes I've coached who are distance runners. And chances are, like my own athletes, his consumption of junk food is pretty limited. My athletes would in general impress me with their commitment to a healthy diet. We all age but as one of my doctors told me, aging only underscores the need for healthy diet, healthy choices if you want to remain in peak shape.
He certainly doesn't look sickly—this is me and I get the same remarks about "should eat a cheeseburger" even now:

He is very long and lean. He wouldn't look much different if he lifted weights 3 hrs a day. He is built like Daniil Medvedev. Very light frame and plenty of power make for a very efficient endurance athlete.
This is why a guy that's ripped like Zverev does not mean he will necessarily perform better than Medvedev.
Any case, Medvedev still has a better, more developed body than Teare.

You failed. It is unfortunate that you cannot find a woman who would enjoy your company.

As he should. Medvedev needs upper body development for swinging his racket and even further lower body development for stability whereas Teare mostly needs to be light yet have the stamina to push through his distances. They're obviously in two very different sports and their development and training progress accordingly.
I am still surprised anyone would think that a distance runner like Teare doesn't simply look like a collegiate distance runner—which is what he is.

So what?
Turns out 3:50 this year on an indoor super track with Nike super spikes and with no tactics needed or other body's to have to run around isn't really a big deal in hindsight.
His ex teammate* ran a 3:48* indoor mile last season* against actual competition and he was not even a mid distance specialist.
Cheserek ran 3:49i 3 years ago and was never Teare’s teammate. That was enough for Hicham El Guerrouj to say he should focus on the 1500/mile, by the way.
"ridiculously skinny" come on man!
Got some insider information I’d like to share on this thread. Even though Cooper looks skinny, he can bench 2 plates and squat 3(for reps, nonetheless). I personally heard a story from a friend of a guy who saw him make a U of O lineman cry after destroying him in an Olympic lifting comp.
Rumor has it he’s not nick bare’s size because his diet consists of Marlboro reds and welches fruit snacks. Pretty beast if you ask me idk how the guy can run at all
Jamin, its a gift from God. His upper body is disproportionately small compared to the rest of his body. That means he is carrying much less weight around. This is a huge advantage. He's like Tergat.
For the purpose of running I wish I had been that skinny. Good for him.
You need to stop worrying about this, he's skinny yes but he's healthy, and there's nothing wrong with that. Come on don't compare him to Lopez Lomong, the guy looks like a Greek god.

Uh, no. He definitely doesn’t “crush weights”. I doubt he can do more than 5 pullups or even bench press his body weight.
Skinny fat.
Let's stop saying things like this. Regardless of gender.
They are distance runners not wrestlers lol. Pat Porter was 6ft 1 135 pounds.

You can always predict that the troll OP will fixate on the very quality that makes someone so good and describe it as their signal defect.
Hey buddy, why dont you get a life and worry about your own body and not soemone else’s. He is an amazing runner so CLEARLY his body works for him. God i knew lets run was toxic but I didnt know it was this bad. Get a life, some friends, and a girlfriend buddy so that you dont spend your puny days posting hate about body image online. Oh yeah, also, you are a loser.
Teare skinny? What do you think of Kejelcha and Kiprop?

Track & Field News, as I recall, wrote that Porter was so skinny that he had to run around in the shower to get wet.
