In summary to the whole thread:
Ben True is a super-responder and probably only in "real" 27:50 shape.
If you've ran a PR over the past 2 years it's because you're a super-responder to the super-spikes. No other factors involved.
If you haven't, then you're clearly not a super-responder and therefore at a severe disadvantage. Nothing to do with anything else.
PS: I haven't quite thought about an explanation why Houlihan, Muir, Schweizer and a few others have chosen not to wear them for genuine record attempts when they know full well they would have ran much quicker if they just chose different shoes, but I'm working on it. Being nice competitors and levelling the playing field maybe?

https://www.freemanrauch.com/practice-areas/defamation/Any takers?
I think rojo would argue that he is playing Devil's advocate to get a discussion going. It obviously works.
Sometimes he seems emotionally involved in a discussion and sometimes emotionally detached.
Do you think about this stuff on race day, or are you completely focused on the race and everything else is just background noise?
Anyways Ben True n rojo, what's da beef?
"26+ second pb"
...was it really necessary to include the +?
Holier than cow and High fidelity,
Stop quoting each other posts and responding to them. It's adding nothing to the discussion. I've gone back and deleted much of it as it's causing the thread to stay off topic and taking up tons of space. Also stop talking about defamation as that has nothing to do with what we are talking about here. If you want to start another thread about Ben True sueing me for defamation, go ahead. You'll look foolish but don't do it here.

Also it’s spelled “suing” not “sueing.”
FYI

Master, what other made up rules would you like us to follow? Want to make sure I’m being a good boy!

Ben True running sub-28 at age 35 after 10+ years as a pro.
Give him props for still grinding at 35.
Give him props for showing up to the start line with no sponsor when his mid-30s counterparts have retired and moved on to other things.
Give him props for doing all this solo, not at altitude, without a youtube channel, unlike all of the other groups out there (Team Boss, BTC, Tinman Elite, etc..).
He is the guy that comes out of the boonies from somewhere in New England forest and kicks your ass in a race. At age 35. Give some respect to this dude instead of devaluing his accomplishments. He would have run sub 28 even with normal spikes.
Thank you
This. The man runs workouts like 12 x 600 at 92-89 in “normal” spikes. THATS why he’s running so fast, Rojo, not because of “magic shoes.”
