One could make the argument that Jason Hartmann is a better coach than Chris Miltenberg.
He's not.
Finally a female high school prodigy who is doing great as a pro. It doesn't matter where you start but where your career ends. If Mary Cain and Alexa Efraimson weren't a thing back then she would have been the main focus. Maybe that was a blessing. She was in their shadows back then and now between the three of them she has the best chance to make it in the next olympics and she has an amazing coach and team to work with. It's also nice seeing Grant Fisher doing well.
If you're not suspected of doping, you're probably not a contender. It's a shame, but it's the state of the sport, and not without good reason.
I love seeing these breakout performances, and I root for them to be clean. It's all you can do.
Her 10,000 time is the equivalent of a 14:38 5,000 according to the IAAF tables, but I'm betting she can run under 14:30 this year.
That's actually a very weird coincidence. I've made an almost identical progression, from very similar form 8 months ago to very similar form now. Unfortunately, I am male and not in high-school so it's 1000 times less impressive :-(

Elise Cranny is not doping! This thread has touched on it a little bit, but Elise was one of the most absurdly talented high school phenoms ever. In the class with Alexa Ephramsen and Sarah Baxter and Mary Cain had already gone pro. Elise was never 100% focused on elite running when she was in high school. She still swam on her high school swim team as a senior(as the slowest leg of a relay, but they needed her). She ran about 4 indoor races her entire high school career, but managed to win two national titles(mile, and 800) She never quit her high school team to pursue being elite, unlike Alexa and Mary Cain. Her 4th place finish at World Juniors in 2014 really showed her level of talent.
At Stanford It's clear that things never really clicked, injury/nutrition issues held her back. Things never clicked and she was a 4 time NCAA runner up, by some absurdly thin margins. I believe she was also a bio chemistry major(or something else that is extremely difficult at Stanford) Elise's greatest attribute and likely one of her downfalls, was that she is a team first person. She cared about other people so much that I think she sacrificed some of herself.
Now she's on the best team ever and focused on one thing. And the results are showing. Elise is more talented than anyone in that group, including Shelby Houlihan. The accusation of doping is absurd to anyone who knows Elise, I doubt she has ever broken a rule in her entire life. She is kind, caring, and accountable to herself and her family. The only way to get Elise to cheat would be to trick her into doping(and she's too smart for that)
yep, talent does not fade
she was a star back then, emerging now, and will be a star in the future

//just sharing thought it was an interesting coincidence on the 30:47 mark
