Noooo, don't do that. I like it how it is. It's like posting roulette and often it really spices up my morning. I'm trying to hone my prediction of what gets deleted and I still can't do it with 100% certainty.
Modern, huh?
It would be very modern if you made even a vague effort to curtail the white supremacists around here.
But random layout changes are nice too.
Completely agree. I liked being able to see lots of information on the screen. To have to scroll so much is very bad. This is very sad.
Looks great.
Just need to change the message board from yellow to white so we can use it at work without drawing attention to the fact we are not working!
Looks much better, really nice job in make it cleaner while keeping most of the same 'feel'
Great Job guys!!
Always appreciate the site as its my number one go to for running.
Keep up the great work.
He!! yeah! the message board looks as dirty as ever. Very republican to not spruce up the slums.
Finally! And that's an understatement of the year. I've been waiting for about 15 years for letsrun to switch to a modern web design, instead of looking like the web circa 1999 .

Our new homepage should be live now (or in a few minutes if you don't see it).
Brief article on the update below.
Our goal was to make LetsRun a little more modern, to be able to present content in more complex formats, and to be able to highlight content that is more than 48 hours old. Plus, now the site should be faster and you can access your accounts on the homepage.
We want your feedback and any issues you have. Either post here or email me directly
wejo@letsrun.com.
A big thank you to intern Ben for the inspiration and for Erik for the work in bringing this about.

Site's been up for 2 minutes and hasn't crashed :)
need to bring back the classic yellow.
Good update. Cleaner, but modern. The last vestiges on that "Internet 1999" feel are gone!
I'm a cartoonist but have been known to dabble in graphic design, maybe this is an informed opinion...
No. Just no.

I'm open for any ideas on where to do this. We tried a few things behind the scenes. I even installed some Chrome extenion called Style Bot to be able to change the look of things on the fly and have yet to come up with anything I like, but I'm not a designer.
Tell us where to put the yellow and we can try it.
It does look a lot better.
I agree that a date listed for each article would be good.
Look and feel is nice. Would be nice to get an idea of when something was posted, in case I haven't been around in a few days. Maybe on link and/or headline hover?
Looks so much better. I did like the older retro look, but this is so much more professional. Nice work
Love the modern updates! I just wish the slogan ("Where your dreams become reality") could stay. "Home of Running" is bland, and retaining the old slogan would be a great nod/homage to those many people who have been with the site since the beginning. It would be a cool "easter egg" almost - like if you stick around long enough, you'll learn the history of the site and what the slogan means.
You guys had a brand that worked and you just threw it in the trash.
The only thing I don't like is the new blue logo—it reeks of baseball to me. Something about the stolid nature of the font and being navy blue and maybe subconsciously I'm reading homerun in the Home of Running or something. Did the new page look bad with the old logo? I could only see it with the yellow halo if it were still to the top left corner, not centered, but how would it look with just the letters with the different colors of the LR twitter handle or maybe just what's on the shirt? Like the person who said they missed the yellow, I feel you should keep some of that branding, cause running is elementary and Let's Run is kind of playful and originally the home of the amateur dream.
Then you could have some yellow or light blue running down maybe with some light outline of red here and there, like the way some designer said you should have grey boxes or whatnot, but with a light hand. (Just an idea—I'm not a designer.) I do think all the same size squares for the news stories give everything the same weight and that's somewhat hard to read through. Later, with more news, you could use different size columns and apply editorial judgment over what's more of interest, even below the fold, like the way the failing NY Times does. —At the same time maybe it just works as a broadsheet and it's up to me to look at everything and gauge my own interest.
The most popular threads from the boards look way more legit now. When you go down to the highlighted podcasts, you could have a slide so you click an arrow and it features 4 more episodes. Your Olympic Marathon Trial picks were good. And the Desi one. And the Christian Coleman going to Chipotle. Then there should be a link going to the podcast page from there as well as the top of the page. You guys have become my favorite running podcast. I am NOT tired of COVID talk, shoe takes or any extemporaneous ranting.
The old logo is beautiful and I will cry if it goes. It is my favourite logo of all time.
