I am from Pennsylvania, and I was looking into some D2 schools, but they aren’t very high up on my list just because most aren’t as good academically, especially for the math/physics/engineering that I want to major in.
You don't really say what to you is a lot of money and there is always the possibility of an expensive place giving you a pile of aid. But in Pennsylvania the "cheapest" schools ( not that even these are cheap) are the Pennsylvania Conference schools unless you're looking at community colleges as well. If you want a place that's strong in the subjects you want to study Penn State is your cheapest option. That raises the matter of whether you want to run in college and if you'd be able to do that there. But nearly every school that people here consider "good" is also pretty pricey unless you can get a load of money from the place.
