I would scrape the ice off with a snow plow.
I highly doubt it. It's some kind of rubber or synthetic compound on an asphalt base, right? Neither would be harmed by salt. If you don't get a good soaking rain this spring might want to hose it down later just to be safe.
Come to think of it, there's an asphalt bike path near me with a rubberized track-like surface on the shoulders, and they dump salt on it by the truckload and it's just fine.
