I'm decently new to the sport, late teens with no family history in the sport, and when I was making my college decision I went with a safer P-5 historic powerhouse (Portland, Stanford, Wisconsin type school, just trying to protect my identity) and I feel great about my decision both academically and athletically.
A lot of my friends who I went to FL and NXN with have chosen less proven, newer teams like UNC and NC State. I talked to both a while I liked them I just didn't feel like I totally trusted such unproven programs yet. Idk if its just my newish look at the sport only having seen recent success of NAU, Oregon, Wisconsin, Colorado, BYU ect. but I'm just really interested if anyone who went from my position of a Milesplit 50 kid to a unranked up and coming school and how it fared for you or if anyone has thoughts on the shift from less traditional power house schools recruiting.
I'm only thinking of this bc looking back only three guys from the Milesplit50 r going to PAC-12 schools and like 5 are headed to UNC.
Maybe I'm just new to the sport and am just seeing some pattern that doesn't actually exist idk
