I need new shoes to use for workouts and I'm trying to decide between the SL20s and the Floatride Run Fast 3s. I've been using SL20s but I'm don't really know if the new ones are that different. Which one should I get?

Reebok RF I feel are more of a racer type they run lighter than listed weight and for weekly sessions may get you by but Adidas seems a little more resilient.
SL20 v1 to v2 has broadened the spectrum a bit increasing the stack slightly and weight 1/2 ounce. Adidas just came out with a new color in the Boston 9. To me that has a better blend of everything, softer, durable(boost) and closer in weight to SL20v1.
The RFP blows the SL20 out of the water, but the other poster is correct, they are very minimal. I pretty much use them for interval workouts where the reps are less than a mile. Sometimes for a 3K or 5K TT or tempo.
Get them both and sell the ones you don't like on Ebay. I was given this advice on letsrun and I now have a shoe retailing emporium. So I now have lots of shoes and I am rich, win win.

He's talking about the regular Run Fast, not the pro.
Can't really comment on the RF, but I really like the Floatride foam, so would personally go with the RF over the SL20.

Good long term business model.
Buy new model shoes at close to or regular retail price. Run in them. Decide you don't like them. Sell them as used shoes for less.
Let me know how long your emporium is open.

I actually did mean the regular Run Fast, just accidentally typed in the Pro.
I really do love the regular Run Fast. I haven't tried the 3 but I have had a few pairs of the 2 because you can find them for as low as $50-60 sometimes if you hunt for deals. Definitely my favorite speed day shoe for short intervals. Any time I am running at or faster than 5K pace I pull them out. The longest run I have probably worn them on was something like 8-10 miles because I was doing quite a bit of speed work in the middle of it. I personally found that they dealt with that much distance just fine, but they really do feel like a racing flat (just a bit cushier).
Reebok Run Fast 3.0 is great for uptempo long runs, but the upper may be bothersome to people with the new material they tacked on and the tongue sits strangely. This has been fine for me personally, but I know several others now that have not had a good time with the upper and were sensitive to it. There's a bit of feeling of heel slipping as well in this latest version. My foot has never has slid out, but if you are sensitive to heel slipping feeling, this is also an issue that's been common.
I honestly have enjoyed it at easier paces and weekend easy going long runs and would look to the SL20 or really nicely updated Reebok Floatride Energy 3.0 for harder workouts under an hour like repeats and track workouts as they are more similar to one another and great responsiveness.
I had two problems with the floatride energy 2 - 1. upper is big and laces have to be tied just right to get the correct lockdown 2. they are very flat and people can hear my feet slapping the ground as I approach...
my experience with the floatride run fast v1 -
first of all, I bought a half size too big, so that's on me. and I have a low-volume foot. heel-striker too, 137 lbs and 5'10".
The laces are too thin and are a bit of a hassle to get tied down snug because they slip if you don't keep pressure as you lace them up. I also don't like the upper/tongue but I wouldn't say that it's actually been an issue for me.
I've used them 16 times according to my log for a random assortment of workouts but not really many intervals as some people are saying they're ideal for.
Longest run I did was 22 miles at 7min pace but that was in July so I don't remember how it felt. Most recent run was 12 miles around 6:15 pace (maybe 30sec slower than MP) and it felt very smooth but I wouldn't want to go much farther in them. 20mi tops maybe. I've done some fartleks in them but nothing too serious, just off-season workouts really.
They don't feel magical or anything, just like a very lightweight but somewhat cushioned shoe. grip should be decent for mixed surfaces but not any real trails with rocks/roots.
Seems like v2 was an improvement but v3 is a step back.
