That is, unless it’s the usatf champs, world champs, Olympic Games, or Nyc marathon, right?

Well to appease me, I just want them all to run at the same race. But fair, it's probably not all on BTC. My point is they have a history of seeking out time trials and not necessarily competition. So I definitely have a bias given that history (specifically skipping USA indoors in favor of UW if my memory serves me right).
BTC aside, given how rarely the 10k is run outside of the championship setting, it would've been nice to see some coordination to create more competition instead of simple standard chasing. This is especially true given the pros in the past have often had to rely on collegiate meets to run a 10k. I think I actually agree with rojo there needs to be some sort of central body to help coordinate these things better.
There are so many damn running podcasts I wasn't aware of the running rivals one you are citing, which I suppose I can understand why that would turn BTC 10k runners off on the Austin meet.

I find it ironic that World Athletics institutes a ranking system and makes qualifying standards harder to hit in order to encourage competition. Instead, athletes are moving farther away from competition because they can't hit the standard without perfect pacing and conditions.

This is actually a very good observation. If they wanted competition they should have instituted some sort of "head-to-head" rankings system; i.e. you get more points the more of your competitors you beat head to head.
Didn't BTC just organzie a meet two weeks ago, invite NB Boston, Team Boss, and Tinman to come out, and then proceed to sweep 4/4 races?
Now they're racing a 10k in LA which a handful of other non Nike/BTC athletes are also in
Yeah, she did most her speed sessions with Schweizer (especially since Grace was hurt) last summer which helped Schweizer get down to an impressive 4:00.0 given her background. I think the addition of GDS (3:56) and Sinclaire (2:00/4:03) will help out tremendously. I could see her getting faster in the 1500m, but her 3:54.9 was already impressive enough. I'm sure she'll wear the new spikes and that should help a bit, but everyone who's a contender besides Tsegay will be wearing them and even she ran 3:53i in Adidas. I'm sure Hassan will run 10k/5k after that 29:36 in terrible conditions last summer and her HM ability (65:06). I think even Dibaba (14:15) will run the 5k after her impressive half (65:2x?).
Kipyegon is the only medal lock to me if Hassan doesn't run, especially after that 2:29 1k last summer. Tsegay, but only if it's a sub 4 race, she needs the past to be honest. Don't forget Muir was 3:55 in 5th coming back from an injury. GDS was 6th, but honestly the Muir/Houlihan training partner is kind of an equal trade-off. Muir still doubled back in the 5k for 6th at '17 Worlds so she has strength, but maybe Jerry can build her strength even more. What's more critical for GDS is that she doesn't loose her speed with the training adjustments. Andy Young does much more speedwork.

Please don’t bring facts into a discussion here. Letsrun functions much better on poorly educated opinions, rumors, and just made up bullshît.

Yeah, BTC is not "ducking" anyone. They wanted to run fast, the Texas meet was not going to be fast. Hell, they invited King Ches; he's no slouch.

Great to have a free live stream for a combined hour of elite racing.
Anyone know where this is being held?
And when? Live stream? It doesn't seem just an intramural time trial. A variety of entries from various places and everybody wants fast times. It would be great to watch it!
Pretty sure it'll stream through here on YT:

Cool prize money as well, with fans being able to donate directly to the purse.
Will Schweizer pull a Solinsky and break 30:00?
Will the youngest guy on BTC - Fisher - surprise everyone and win?
5 pages of posts and just the one mention of fans having the option of adding to the prize purse. I figured I saved at least $12 by not having to do a monthly sub to see this and gladly chipped in. Weather? Looked like it was to be windy last time I looked a few days ago.
I doubt it -- Ches will probably refuse to push the pace as soon as the rabbits drop out and then kick for the win in a 27:35 type time.
I've been wondering this for a while, but does anyone know the story of how Tuntivate and Bartelsmeyer got on BTC? All of the other recruits they've had join post college were absolute studs in the NCAA -- these two were very good, but not on par with Fisher, Schweizer, McGorty, Cranny, etc.
They’re good enough and international so no USA team competition
Donate here, folks who make 250k a year and have a hot wife to boot!

Pretty sure they’re gonna want the 27:28 Olympic standard—probably the primary reason for the event.
Also, Marc Scott FTW.
