just wondering what was the most specialized/feared special forces unit? I'm talking about the entire world. what is the absolute BEST and how hard is it to get into this unit? A friend of mine said it's the Delta Force, is this true?

The one that doesn't exist.
Not sure but definitely not Delta Force. Maybe CIA SAC/SOG, they pull from DEVGRU, Delta Force, and other special forces so they're taking only the best of the best.
Obviously the group that was able to storm and breach the Capital of the world’s strongest armed forces is the best.
Let’s have a shout out to Redneck Americans!
Why are posters here obsessed with special forces operators?
If a large tank battle were necessary, who would care about lightly equipped, lightly armed special operators?
If two carrier groups were to meet toe to toe in Atlantic, Indian or Pacific Ocean, who would care about lightly equipped, lightly armed special operators?
If nuclear subs were to hunt each other under ice in Arctic Ocean, who would care about special operators?
If I.C.B.M.s versus I.C.B.M.s, special operators? Who cares?

Depends if you want elite Navy SEALs to swim up and plant mines on your hull, or not
As far as in the U.S., tier one level for special ops would be Seal Team six and Delta Force. Now outside of the SOCOM in the US Government, CIA has SAC. Which is probably the most elite special operation capable fighting in the U.S. that we know. Outside the U.S. there are the British SAS, German KSK etc.

Israelis should be on the list, too. They are highly trained and also have the benefit of being used a lot in actual covert missions. (By benefit, I mean from a training value standpoint, of course).

U.S. Department of Defense should have left WW2 era frogmen to do exactly what you stated. It is unnecessary and redundant to have several lightly equipped, lightly armed, quick moving light infantry. Se.A.L.s, USMC Recon, USMC S.T.A., Air Force Search & Rescue, Green Berets, Rangers, Delta Force. [USMC Recon & USMC S.T.A. technically are not special forces. All land based special forces I stated were meant to reduce USMC fame & glory.] Multiple land based special forces are not necessary. Pick one. Then that one group would be the one land based special forces for D. o D. Send Se.A.L.s back to 100% frogmen duty.
The troops of the Russian Interior Ministry. They get right down to business and perform their duties with no compunction whatsoever.

The proper term is special operations. That is units that are capable of unconventional warfare and in the U.S. it means you fall under SOCOM. Which does not fall under the conventional military i.e. for example their funding doesn't come their respective branch. Special Forces is referring to Green Berets. Now the reason why we have different groups that on the surface seem like they all do the same thing I guess if your only knowledge is video games and movies. But they all do something different and specialized in that i.e. Army Green Berets are capable of training and leading natives in fighting against insurgents in their home country, while Navy Seals and Army Rangers for example are not trained in this aspect of unconventional warfare. Also operational fatigue can be very fatal in combat. So if you have more than one specialized unit capable of X, Y and Z than you'll rotate the units in order to achieve optimal results.
Don't forget about Air Force PJs and Marine raiders......
You gave no good reason why U.D.T. Se.A.L.s were brought on land during Viet Nam era. You gave no good reason why so-called special units were needed to infringe upon USMC fame & glory. Bad Wigins brought up mission of WW2 U.D.T. All others are unnecessary. You can say specialized all you want. At least 1/2 a dozen Se.A.L.s drowned during Grenada Mission. Marines did what Marine have done since 1775 and rescued the medical students. Air Force pilot Scott O'Grady shot down over Bosnia & Herzegovina, no special forces, no special operators. A USMC all-star platoon was quickly formed and rescued O'Grady. Run, swim, jump wings and marksmanship. Except for UDT duties, don't make light infantry more complicated than it is.
This has to be the Spaceforce.
The French Foreign Legion and U.S. Marines have the most effective uniforms for picking up chicks.
Green berets.
The seals a distant 2nd
There are quite a few different groups around the world that are very good. The best you will never know about because their operations are so highly classified that you won't even know they exist. Of the ones that we do know about, here's a few.
U.S. Navy SEALs
Russian Spetsnaz
Spain’s Special Naval Warfare Force
The Sayeret Matkal of Israel
France’s National Gendarmerie Intervention Group
US Delta Force
The Special Services Group in Pakistan
Polish GROM
Britain’s Special Boat Service
China’s Snow Leopard Commando Unit
After a thoughtful and careful analysis of this question, I think it is pretty clear from evidence shown in the Taken franchise that it is not a team. It's not three people; it's not even two people. It's one man and his Hamilton Jazzmaster Gent Quartz.

And of course the British win the Wimpiest Name award. China's got the most impressive name.
"Delta Force" is the most impressive US name.
