I'm leaning towards Abdi because you can be a Super Bowl QB with a good team and poor athleticism but running is a purely individual sport.

In Brady's case, he received a lot of help from the Tampa Bay defense and running game.
Have to go with Brady. You didn't ask which is harder. Brady impressed hundreds of millions in the world and he earned $25M in the process.
Tom played under a new coach, new coordinators, a new playbook, and a rush-heavy league.
He had to overcome the challenges to take Tampa Bay to the next level.
People still have to catch Tom's passes, read his plays, understand his cadences, adjust to his speed, and know when he calls an audible to truly be a unit.
Few people here on this site played football and did track and/or xc.
So please. Spare me.
Makes me wonder what vitamins they’re taking.
Have to go with Abdi, his sport is global.
Brady’s sport is pretty much limited to one country only, not a very big sport globally.
the truth. wrote:

The US OT isn't global.
Brady is the best at a hugely popular sport with a massive and well-funded development base. He beats everyone, not just other teams in a weak division, the equivalent of what Abdi did.
Abdi. No contest. Football is a team sport. Abdi did the lion's share of his work. TB was just one of a whole bunch of teammates and coaches who allowed him to be successful.
Brady. US men are pretty bad at the marathon. Abdi making the team really wasn’t that impressive
Brady can't run.
Never could.
An able bodied person who is a lousy runner in a sport where speed matters a lot cannot be considered a great athlete in my mind.
Correct answer. Tiger Woods' 2019 Masters
I'm going with Abdi. Individual sport. Running is almost all fitness based, vs highly skill based in football. In theory, fitness will decline before skill. Also, the individual vs team aspect. Abdi had to be better than his opponents. No way to fake it. No one to help Abdi out with the running. Brady's success depended on others. Divide his accomplishment across the whole team.
You can't compare the two accomplishments because the very nature of their respective sports are so vastly different.
Let me know how abdi holds up after being tackled by a 300lb guy. It’s no comparison, for Brady to be doing what he’s doing at his age is very impressive.

Agreed. Nevertheless, for the sake of the debate, I'd say Abdi's accomplishment is more impressive. Brady has teammates that can pick up the slack when his performance falls off. Abdi has to rely solely on himself.
Brady plays a more skillful position in a more skillful sport, with a greater risk of contact injury.
This thread is a joke... Brady hands down. The guy is managing a lot of pieces vs. abdi managing himself. Brady is the equivalent of a CEO running a fortune 500 company, Abdi is a sole proprietor that is world class. Brady has many, many, many more variable to manager vs. abdi and he is compensated accordingly.
Umm one of them just did something unprecedented in America's most popular sport. The other is a highly suspect character in a much less competed sport. Remember Geb ran 60 at the alleged age of 40, many think he's older, at the 2013 Great North Run. What Abdi is doing is not unprecedented. Brady has won multiple super bowls since the cliff was predicted by many pundits.
And for those saying Brady had a lot of help last night that is true. But he played great as well, really don't see any areas he did not excel. He did not have a great NFC championship but his Superbowl was top notch.
Brady. If Abdi had made the Kenyan or Ethiopian team I would have voted for him. American OT just not in the same league.
Agreed with Brady. I won't repeat what's already been said but another thing to think about. This goes along with the CEO comment. Brady used his relationships with Gronk, AB, and Fournette to help build this Super Bowl winning team. All three were not on the Bucs last year and are the three guys with TDs in the game. Can't discount Tom's ability to use his connections and ability to maintain relationships.
