No protection = no Mahomes. Brady may actually be one of the best students of the sport. I hate to say that, but he played on all of KC's weaknesses quite successfully today.

I don't understand why the commentators kept spinning this narrative that he's the next Brady. He's won one time

Mahomes was on a SB winning team; without that team Mahomes is nothing.
Turf toe and receivers with butterfingers did in Mahomes, and no defensive help.
Have no love for the chefs but Mahomes was playing with a foot injury which took away a lot of his mobility
I was glad to see the game end. I thought Mahomes was going to get killed. He took some absolute shots in the closing minutes.

That was not his problem. His O-line was banged up two weeks ago when he still had the turf toe. He is just a regular QB without the protection.
It's not like the guy sucks all of a sudden. Come on.

Sounds like a pile of excuses for a mediocre QB. No protection = no Mahomes.
I thought he played pretty good, his receivers all just let themselves get hit in the helmet time amd time again

So which QB would have played well with the type of pass protection he received today? If Brady had been back there, he would have been sacked about 10 times.
Mahomes is a fantastic QB and he, Watson and Rodgers are the top 3.
Brady only passed for 200 yards in the game so the defense and running game deserve just as much credit for the win.
Mahomes will never see another super bowl. He got humiliated in the game of his life. There's no coming back from that. He's a Garappolo now.
Mahomes is good, but he will never be Tom Brady good. Brady has made sacrifices few others will make.

Brady is tall, has near elite arm strength and great accuracy and those are gifts that are not attainable from practicing. He is possibly the best pocket passer ever, but Rodgers is arguably a better all-around QB, because of his mobility.
Mahomes and Watson have both good running and passing skills and I see them being the type of QB, future Super Bowl teams will be built around. After Mahomes retires he will likely be near the top of anyone's GOAT list.

He seemed quite mobile running straight back.

Why are we discussing Watson; Watson is done and has been done. Mahomes will be fine, but not great. The greatness comes from the extreme elite level of his O-line that Reid built up. If that starts to crumble so will Mahomes. You may be right on Watson a little, I think Watson would play even better than Mahomes with that kind of pass protection.

This ranks right up there with the silliest posts on this forum. You could take out Mahomes and literally replace him with ANY superbowl winning name. You wanna see? Let's try....

*See Patriots the last couple of years.
If you are going to throw shade at Mahomes, at least do so with substance. Don't be lazy.

WHOAAAA. Saying Mahomes will never be as good as the greatest to ever play is quite the stretch. (sarcasm homey).
What Sacrifices has Brady made that few others haven't?

Mahomes is a very good QB. No guarantees on Superbowl success. I thought with Dan Marino's excellent skills he would have 1/2 a dozen Superbowl titles.
Brady's height is natural. Not too much else. Brady works very hard and has worked very hard as a pro. I saw Mahomes play QB in college. I saw Brady play QB in college. Except for Brady having classic height of N.F.L. QB, not too much else is natural talent for Brady. Brady is highly competitive. Brady knows how to walk the fine line of getting along with his teammates but he is a leader of men. Brady's arm talent, is nothing natural. Brady is like Frankenstein's monster. I saw on pre-game show on N.F.L. network yesterday, Brady's father said his son takes 45 pills a day. Are there even 45 supplements-vitamins at GNC that won't make an athlete test positive?
Tom Brady has been allowed in Tampa Bay to be co-general manager and co-head coach. Owner and head coach in Tampa allowed Brady to bring in about 1/2 a dozen of Brady's friends as teammates.

Holy turd take. He's 25 sorry he hasn't played in 10 Super Bowls before turning 26.
