No it was not a relay split it was and indoor 400m, she split 50 flat on the relay look on her iaaf profile its a new pr . she is likely elite in the 400 and 800.

Please it's a relay split with a running start. Mu likely can't run 50.52 in a flat 400m. That time would have been the 10th fastest time in the world in 2019. If she can run that in a flat 400m she'd be a 400 sprinter, not an 800 runner.
So... who’s gonna tell him?

I guess the folks at A&M are confused too as they list the event as "Women 400 M"
https://results.flashresults.com/2021_02-06_CharlieThomas/003-1-04.htmThis is silly. Letsrun wants every 400 runner to move up and easily break the world record. Brazier is only about the 10th fastest 400 runner in the US so there are 9 guys who have a converted 800 time faster than him. Why don't they run the 800? How fast could Murphy or Symonds run 400 when they ran 1:42? I doubt they could run 44.
Can we get Les banned from this thread?

FastTuohy, the "M" means Meters. It's a base unit of length.https://results.flashresults.com/2021_02-06_CharlieThomas/index.htm

Um, I was being sarcastic in response to the comment that it was in a relay!!!

Time to change your handle little guy

Makes a lot of sense!
I think 4/8 training is best for early development, although when you get to meets that have rounds, 8/mile runners have the advantage.
Why do 8/mile runners have an advantage with rounds? I’ve never heard a satisfactory explanation for this opinion.
If you have two women with 800 PRs of 2 flat and one is running 70MPW and the other is running 30MPW, which one do think will fare better warming up and racing a 2:03 and cooling down 2 days in a row and then warming up and racing a 2:01 on the third day?
"800m training is marathon training with a tiny bit of pace work beginning 6 weeks before the race" will go home DEVASTATED

What does recovering from a hard 800 have to do with running 30mpw or 70mpw? And what does a warmup/cooldown have to do with it?
Have you ever trained or coached? You don't realize that more training will result in better recovery? Try going for a 3 mile prerace jog today with your neighbor who hasn't run in a few years and see how he feels tomorrow while you are racing a 5k on fresh legs because your are used to running 8 miles per day.
dam didnt know my neighbor was athing mu

So you’re comparing someone on a ~30mpw, largely speed based, 800m-specific training program as it relates to racing an 800 to an untrained person going for a 3 mile jog before a 5k race? Have YOU trained or coached for the 800?

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
