Alright, let's bring it back down to earth -- Nico Young will not win an NCAA title as a freshman, and he certainly won't make the U.S. Olympic Team. But what about breaking some AJRs?
Current AJRs:
3000: Galen Rupp, 7:49.16
5000: German Fernandez, 13:25.46
10000: Galen Rupp, 28:15.82
I think he has a legitimate chance at all three if he wants to go for them. Which, if any, will he get?
3000, good chance he won't run one since he's doing cross country and it's indoor season. And didn't he run a 3000 time trial earlier against Drew Hunter and didn't run faster than that?
5000: Not going to run 13:25, I could see mid 13:30's.
10,000: Probably won't even run a 10,000 this year, if he does it'd be 50-50 chance he runs faster than that. Dude isn't even the fastest guy in the NCAA, probably not even top 5. People need to chill. Mantz just beat him, and Kiptoo would destroy him, and others would beat him too.
