I don’t know about that. He just ran 7:58 for 3000 indoors on a 5 laps to the mile track up at Provo’s elevation. He’s fit. If anything, he’s tired because he’s doing volume through a lot of these races. I wouldn’t doubt if he was pushed on a bad day, just trying to get the win at the end.
Kid ran 10.5 miles after the race. I don’t get that unless taking the next day off. Do the three mile cool down, then maybe a shakeout run in the evening. But, I’m not a coach, so...
For anyone thinking the course was short, most watches had it a little over 5 miles, which sounds right if it was 8k. Very flat though.
