I didn't notice wavelight, so maybe this one will count without controversy?
Nice.
Wow! This guy is unreal 4:00/7:51/13:37. All in 3 weeks. Would be curious to hear how they trained and maintained such sharpness for the whole block.
suck it Trebek
Didn't Ribich run 7:50 while at WOU?
Yes, but on an Oversized track. For records it has to be on a 200m track (Flat or banked) but more than likely its on a banked track. So David has the All-Conditions record by about 0.6 seconds.
I want to know his training, seems like a baller. More prs are coming, thats a fact.

Sweetheart, it's a 200m track. Try again, sweetie :)
No wavelights. Announcer/meet director Dave Milner called out the NCAA on the stream and made sure to point out they weren't using lights in case any DII coaches wanted to make a stink about it.
We didn't want to provide electronic pacing assistance that other athletes didn't have access to, so we just let a two time Olympic medalist do the pacing instead.
This guy is really good, great even, and it would be interesting to see what his training has been, but let's not just too much emphasis on the training. He was a high school stud who could easily have gone to a D1 school.
These "purist" will say he was helped because he ate a life Saver! Would love to see what he could do for a 10k

Well whatever he was in HS he finished 117th in D2 Cross Country in 2017. This is NOT impressive and I believe he may have finished 96th in 2018. So he has made stunning improvements.

Try 18th in 2018. And that was after being in front group most of race.

OK so he was 96th in 2016, 117th in 2017 and 18th in 2018. None of that is impressive at all. However he is running like someone who would have finished maybe 5th, 2nd and 1st in those years. Stunning improvement for sure.
2018 was nearly 2.5 years ago, holmes. Including a long block with no racing and lots of focused training. Plus it appears he redshirted 2019 XC. The dude went to Foot Locker, it's not like he's some schlep who barely broke 18 in HS.

The improvement is incredible. The guy was running like a 15 minute 5K guy for most of his college career. I repeat; the improvement is incredible. There is no use arguing that point. There may be a good explanation for it but it is incredibly unusual.
Ran 14:30 his freshman year

So what? He was running like a 15 minute guy for most of college. Maybe he was injured for most of that time.
