They will be ok. They were missing Tooker and Nathan Lawler at ACC that's2 of their top 5 plus the fall season was so messed up that teams couldn't get race hardened before the conference meet. The southern ACC teams had chances to race before the championship.
ND did perform well though.
Trouble in Syracuse?

UMass Lowell is one of the most slept on programs in the northeast, and I’d say they deserve a shot at nationals. If not this year, then I assure you they’ll be there in the coming years.

again.. any info on Syracuse women??

They also have by far the most scholarships. When they switched from D2 to D1 they became fully funded. Compare them to a school like Boston College with zero scholarships. -
Tufts is by far the most underrated program in the country. In my opinion, miles ahead of any competition in the Northeast, much less Boston. Seriously. Other Boston schools need to take note of the culture their coach is building other there because it’s something truly specially, reminiscent of the NN Running Team in Kenya. If any Cuse runners are reading this, transfer in now before the blue wave hits!!! Don’t miss out!

Tufts is very good, yes, and it seems they have some great young talent on the team. However I doubt they can go toe-to-toe with a team like UML or even other nescac teams like Williams or Colby in xc for that matter.
-
Go look at UML top guys and their high school PRs, interested which one of those athletes you think got all those 'fully funded' scholarships. They're a program built on high school schmucks kicking big name school's asses. Bunch of sallys at BC sad they can't beat a small state school

Paul Hogan ran 4:15, 9:59, and 14:31 in high school as well as a 1:23 in the 600. 4th at outdoor nationals in the 5k. 2nd in the two mile at nationals indoors.

Dont think he was either of the two guys that made cross nationals last year as individuals -

if you don't know who Paul Hogan is, you aren't qualified to be commenting on UMass Lowell.
For the record, Stony Brook beat them 22-54 at the America East Championships and had 5 guys in before UMass Lowell's #2.
Stony Brook also dominated them indoors, winning the DMR, 4x8, 5k, 3k, 1k, and second in the mile (behind Binghamton). -

You must be a SBU fan. They aren't even in the conversation anymore for a nationals bid. Their big guns only have track seasons left. And UML doesn't have the talent to do much better than they did last year at regionals. I'd expect to see the Ivy Northeast schools to step back up, thats where the talent is. Despite regional rankings, this winter is based entirely off of national ranking anyway so I expect only Iona to make it out of NE.
Looking at the 2019 AE CC meet and 2019 NE regionals just shows both UML and SBU had s*** days on different days. I can tell you compete/competed in AE because those are the only athletes that care for those conference results. SBU needs to get some current athletes to a national championship before looking to be mentioned among NE powerhouses like 'cuse and iona.
On another note, keep eyes out for Dan Schaffer of Binghamton. -

Stony Brook did not have a bad day at regionals, they placed 5th. Only reason UML beat them is because they all wore the Nike Vaporfly Next% which clearly gave them a big advantage. They aren't even a nike school.
Stony Brook has produced a National Champ on the women's team already. The women were top 10 in XC one year. Their men are doing very well considering they have little to no scholarships. -

this you?
clout chasing... -
Judging by the fact that UML had many runners doubling and running off events, I would guess they were going for a team title which didn't work. It appears Stoney Brooke was focused on getting as many athletes titles as possible spreading them out among many events and only running 1 event each. This strategy worked. The team scores reflect that. I believe Paul Hogan is with the BAA now. Didn't the UML national qualifier beat the SBU runners at your conference meet and regional meet? I think his performance at the nationals would show that it was not the shoes.
Your last statement Nick, appears to adhear to the take that SBU is a team of the past. Not saying UML is. BC certainty is not either. Watch out for Tufts. -
NATIONAL POLL JUST CAME OUT
I don’t get what these people don’t understand.
SIXTH IN THE ACC IS NOT A TOP 30 TEAM
This is the team that came in 27th at nationals last year AND GOT WORSE.
Idgaf about Stony Brook, UMass, or even Tufts.
This is a joke. -

It’s Noah. Screw Syracuse -
I guess we were ahead of the curve on this one. Number 30 is just a pity vote now. Coaches, Syracuse is not good this year. Treat them like any other team.

This is false. Coulter of SBU won the 1k and ran on the winning 4x8 and DMR.
Avery of SBU won the 5k and only got 12th in the 3k. He beat the UML national qualifier (Alfond) by 9 seconds in the 5k.
Becker of SBU got 2nd in the mile and was on the winning 4x8.
Moffett of SBU won the 3k and was on the winning DMR. Alfond of UML was 3rd in the 3k.
Biondi of SBU was 2nd in the 3k and was on the winning DMR. Alfond of UML was 3rd in the 3k.
Alfond had a good day at nationals but was only 69th. UMBC had an athlete place 27th a few years ago so it's not like Alfond did better than America East runners of the past, either. 29:00 at regionals to 31:39 at nationals, I think the shoes had a lot to do with it. -
What's going on with all of the Syracuse hate?
