Yo. I'm training for a HM in 3 months time. Don't have a PB over the distance yet but the target is sub-71. I usually average around 75MPW. However, I have a question regarding easy run pace.
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information and opinions on easy running. I know some 30:00 10k guys who run their easy days at close to 6:00 pace, while others seldom drop below 7:00.
So today I tried something different. I ran my AM run at 6:20 pace and my PM at 8:00 pace. I figured giving my body different stimulus from 2 very different paces may be beneficial. Is this a good idea, or should I just stick to 7:00+ on easy days? I don't think I could do every run at 6:20 but would it be wise to have 1 or 2 runs per week at that sort of pace? Advice appreciated. Cheers.
