Can you provide a link?
What about a video link?
go to 1:20
Did they run all the laps:-)
I've seen 3200s go wrong many times, so don't laugh.
Also, I saw this in a tweet earlier, with a photo, and how old is that guy? Got an Alan Webb vibe going.
holy crap
Of course if they had cared Peter Rono and the Cheruiyot boys could have all run faster in college.
Are they seriously using pacing lights? This is such trash. Not a real record.
Noble seems so gritty
did he use cheater shoes or spikes?
Should probably get your eyes checked. No pacing lights here

There are like 15 lights on the inside of the track that light up as the runners approach.

Thankfully, your 16:50 still stands.

Yep. Pacing lights.
He ran in the new Nike spikes but I really don't think it was that as much as it was the lights. I've been looking up all the results of many of the D1 and D2 indoor meet results and many of the fastest times are not run in the new spikes.
The Fastest 800 1:45- Was run in some random sprinting spikes that have been out for like 3 years
Mile- Was run in the new spikes but only a one second PB from guys personal best of 3:59 from 2019
3000- Run in new spikes (Used 2nd best performance in D1 because Mantz is an altitude conversion) Huge improvement from his PB but didn't run a lot of 3ks, guy in 3rd used spikes had a pb of 8:06 before running 7:59
5000- 14:14 kid had a PB of 14:24 from last year, couldn't find what spikes he used but lets just assume he used new ones, trained harder, not too crazy or out there performance.
Christian Nobles improvement is by far the largest I have seen so far. I really do not think Spikes played as much of a factor as people think. I think the light pacing certainly did play a large factor. If you look at this kids TFRRS he doubles and triples at many meets, often always winning. He had a pr of 14:01 before this, but I wouldn't chalk it up to the spikes.
I disagree with the article "2021 will be like 2018 on the roads" as far as track performance improvements go. The spikes do not nearly make as much of a difference as one thinks. In the Sound running meet Luis ran in adidas avantis that have been out since 2015 and Drew run in Adidas spikes that have been out since 2018. They went 1 and 3. Cooper was second with the new spikes.
My point is that this is nowhere near as lop sided as the vaporflys were on the roads. It got to the point where 95 percent of road races were won with them, and people in other shoes didn't have a chance. This does not seem to be the case at all with the new spikes.
His 14:01 PR was from indoors last year. He has ran 13:48 outdoors this past summer and ran 4:00 last weekend on the same track. Christian has taken his running to a new level these past 8 months and is going to be the stud we all knew he could be. As for his spikes, his school is a Nike school ,so he uses Nike.

I was under the impression, records are not "official" unless in a "championship" meet

His progressions are unreal. He ran at 10+ second personal best at 1500m and then kept going for another 109 meters. Smell that? Smells fishy.
