Big ten XC champs scheduled for next week

Certainly the Big Ten planned for this and can delay...but they haven't shown that competence in other sports so who knows.
I'm confused. Isn't it indoor season right now?
is it xc or indoor season? wrote:

Bummer. Was looking forward to seeing Tom Brady run.
So how does this impact NCAA qualifying for the team and individuals? I remember seeing that the biggest criteria the selection committee will look at is the conference meet, but does not running at your conference meet disqualify you from NCAAs? Or just make it a lot harder for you to qualify? Either way it's a tough blow for strong men's and women's programs.
They are out because they have no other meets.
I don’t see the meet moving because schools also have indoor track schedules. There will be other cross country meets in Feb. let’s hope UMich can post some results and get selected to NCAAs. They deserve the shot. Both programs belong in the championship.
When is the XC meet you speak of?
It is next Saturday. The Big Ten can only compete within the conference and there are no other meets so they will be out of nationals.
Multiple meets in Feb for teams getting ready for NCAAs. For example, FL State hosting early Feb.
Big Ten can't compete.

I forgot about this stipulation. You are right about the in conference only rule for big ten. Let’s hope they can get an at large bid.
.....but current rule requires at least one competition to be eligible for NCAA.
This is incompetence by the powers at be in the Big10.
Michigan belongs in the NCAA National CC meet.
Create another CC Meet for Michigan because it is the right thing to do.
The Big 10 broke all of their rules to allow OSU to play for a National title in Football.
This is cross country. Schools lose money on it.

This is incorrect, they are choosing to mainly play in conference but it is no longer a set rule.
both MBB, WBB and Hockey have played non Big Ten Teams.
