Nice start to college track for 4 time FL finalist. HS 3200 PB was 9:02 I think

Good run from him, but he did run 8:50 for 2 miles in high school as a junior, so not as big a PR as it might seem.
One of the top guys in the NCAA.
Love this continuous upward trajectory from him. Must’ve had some great coaching in hs. idk why ppl don’t talk about him more. He was basically a blue chop recruit since probably middle school as he qualified for Foot Locker EVERY YEAR of hs which as a male imo is harder to do. Then finished 2nd as a soph, 3rd as a junior and 4th as a senior and that’s just cross. Looking forward to seeing what he does next

He may pass Young this year.

So ~15 sec isn’t much of a pr? I’d say 99.99% of us would be ecstatic with a 15 sec or over 3k in our first race if the season. Or are you just looking for something to be negative about?

More like 10s which over 1.5 which is a good improvement but not some crazy breakthrough. Definitely nice but isn't it exactly in like with what you would expect form an 8:50 as a junior guy (not sure how many races he had senior year)?
I guess I just sort of expect top 5 Foot locker guys to be running around 8:00 in college. The question for me is always who can keep making breakthroughs (i.e. sub 7:50/13:40 is still only a handful of guys most years). It is early but also a weird year. I wish him and the rest of that class a lot of luck. A bunch of fast times this year will make us really wonder how many good races last year we missed out on:)
I dont care about improvement, just performance and he is the top freshman in the NCAA right now.
4:02 for 1 mile today
