When doing eccentric heel drops for achilles pt, how many should be done, both in reps and daily total? Also, when should they be done? As a post run stretch? Whenever and as often as able? Or what?
I've been doing them, but not many, as a post run stretch. I feel that I need to be warmed up and if I do them cold that I'm doing more harm. So, if I do them throughout the day, should I go for a walk or something to warm up? Does it matter?
I injured my left achilles a few months ago. Felt soreness during a run one day back in late September and have been dealing with it since. It had gotten better over time and by end of December I thought I was 100% healed, no pain or even tightness during or after runs at all, but then I reaggravated it playing soccer a few weekends ago. I was feeling too confident. Dumb!
I know I need to be doing heel drops, but wonder what's proper way and amount.
The soreness is right at the narrow portion of lower leg where the tendon can be seen and felt.
