What were you thinking went you went to a college or couldn't afford? You know classmates of yours took less expensive routes but you went top dollar. If you were poor there were tons of opportunities for a free ride. you shouldn't have high debt. Most likely you were middle class and thought you were entitled to an expensive university. The colleges that others selected so they would have smaller loans wasn't good enough for you was it? Did you pick a line of study that was likely to produce a good job or did you just go by the idea of picking a line of study that you liked the most.
Granted, the "I was stupid and taken advantage of" excuse may have a tiny bit of validity. The government should step in and make sure that you have very low interest rates. We can help you out there. We can also give you some credit toward your loan if you work in an area that others don't want.
Asking us to pay off the huge loan you took because you wanted to live beyond your means, is kind of pathetic.
