oh no contagious
It's called being in the army.
Suck it up bro.
1. Soldiers should not be complaining publicly about something this trivial. Of all the shtt they could possibly encounter on a deployment, a 55 degree parking garage in the United States is not really what anyone would call a hardship.
1b. It was a beautiful January day in DC. I was outside all afternoon. It was 50-ish and sunny.
2. This is an Army problem. They should have planned and provided better. They have legions of personnel devoted to logistics. 100 portable toilets could be there in 1 hr. As far as I know they are actually sleeping in hotels, they could/should have simply been rotated in for their shifts and then gone off duty/back to their lodging. This isn't brain surgery.

Better than the desert. Or the jungle of Vietnam. Or in poison oak in Europe.
I mean... it’s part of the job no?
You should have paid attention in English class. You should have stayed in school.
You are a wussy.
Based upon the close quarters that they were forced into by the new president, it is highly likely that this event will become a COVID super spreader event. Thus the inauguration may prove to be more deadly than the capitol riots themselves.
The irony in all of this is that they are there because of Trump's fake claims of election fraud.. that sparked an insurrection.
These "soldiers" are being housed in hotel rooms. HOTEL ROOMS. They are whining about having to take their breaks in the garage instead of inside the capital. The decision to move them out of the Capitol building was by the Capitol Police. Not Nancy Pelosi, Biden, Schumer, etc. And as soon as the photos of the poor little baby "soldiers" hit the internet, the Capitol Police reversed course and let them back in the building for their rest breaks.
Agree to all plus
1. I can't speak to this specific event, but as a military member if this is like any temporary duty assignment they all have comfy hotel rooms and are probably making good $$ in food per diem for a few days in DC. The people photographed "sleeping in the parking garage" are ON DUTY. They probably have watch for a few hours then will go back to their hotel rooms and order uber eats with their per diem.
Honestly this would be a pretty nice place to stake out for a watch. There are plenty of much rougher places our military members are standing watch.
2. It's super nice of some politicians to bring them pizza or offer their offices to STAND DUTY in. I love when someone drops by some treats on watch! But also it's not expected and they really don't need to be specifically calling out other politicians on social media for "making them sleep in a parking garage" because they are wrong.

The OP is the type who on the first day of basic training asks the drill sergeant why they forgot to turn down the bed covers and leave a small chocolate treat for him to eat on his pillow.
This thread proves Trumpers could never survive a civil war they started. They might have to sleep on the ground somewhere that isn't home.

Or on the seat of an open roofed half track in sub zero weather in the Ardennes Forest with exploding German artillery shells for an alarm clock.

Or in an ice cave in Siberia during the first war.

What does it have to do with the WH? They were there to protect the capital not the WH. It looks like it was the capital police that moved them there.

Ah ... the Senate was in session. They are setting up a new place in the Capitol for them.
Meanwhile, the dangerous people are the Trumper congresspeople trying illegally bring guns into the House meetings.
