If the Japanese government cancels the Olympics, as they are reportedly planning to, then World Athletics needs to host their own "Olympics" in Monaco or Eugene this summer.

I don't see that happening, Eugene 2022 is still a thing, and if the Olympics get cancelled I'd bet money that WA won't do anything else.

If that happens then they should all be fired for incompetence

Supposedly 80% of Japanese surveyed don't want to hold the Olympics. WA can't force another country to hold it.

Calm down Loper! You are the one who has a sense of urgency. You are an entitled brat in this scenario. You are only thinking of your needs as a fan. There are other concerns which you do not care about.

If the Japanese don't come to their senses then someone else will. A majority of the USA will have taken both doses of the covid vaccine by this summer, as could any athlete or spectator who wants to attend.

The average American couldn't care less about a track and field meet. They just want the economy opened back up. If you asked 1,000 random people about holding an international event with people from all over the world the majority would say no way.

So? The average person's opinion is stupid and has no bearing in this scenario.
Lot of people have sacrificed a lot, since the last Olympics in 2016. That's five years of sacrifice. Pathetic they can not make this happen if true.
Let China host the Olympics this year that way they can make up for rona. They'll do it.

Of course the average person's opinion has bearing. You can't just hold a major international event if people in the community or state or even the country don't want it.
I would love to see a meet held in Eugene as much as anyone but I'm being realistic and you're being emotional.

Yeah you can actually. It's not like they hold a referendum and let the public decide every time an event is held. Even if they did, people's opinions will be a lot more positive 6 months from now.

This virus will be gone by Easter (2020). You are not one to be trusted on this subject. You have never taken this virus seriously.
