There currently is another thread on letsun with a guy asking why does it seem to him that everything on letsrun is political. My answer was, "Dude everything in society has sadly become political."
Why in the hell does a company need to denounce a riot on the US capitol? I mean isn't it obvious that 99% of the people are against that - even those who had questions about the election.
But for some reason, companies now want to virtue signal.
As a result, it's exhausting to just try to go about your normal day now. Someone can't even go to a sporting event anymore and just enjoy as they are now forced to make some sort of political statement one way or the other when the damn national anthem is played . Your best bet is to head to show up later or head to the bathroom when it's played or you are going to piss someone off.
My neighbor is French. He recently put a BLM sign out in the yard. When he saw me, he smiled proudly and said something now along the lines of, "We are playing American now." I said, "What do you mean?" He said, "In france you would never put a sign in your yard like this or for who you are voting for. Here you are expected to do it."
