Michael Cohen, for starters. I was gonna say Roger Stone but he may have only spent a day in jail since he never had to go to prison. Paul Manafort did though.

It is truly amazing how little you know given how opinionated you are.
the economy is not great, but the jobs situation is. Once again, new claims for unemployment insurance come in very very low. pretty much anyone who wants a job can get on. For those of us who grew up with 6-8% unemployment, this is pretty amazing stuff.
And suggests GDP isn't really measuring the growth of the economy. Hard to see how this kind of job creation is going on during a recession.

As you know, I do say we are in a recession now, but we will come out of it with the report of the next quarter.
However, we very well might slip into another recession in 2023. A lot of analysts are predicting that right now.
Hopefully it will be shallow.
You don't even know what your mom is making you for dinner tonight but you've got the next quarter of the world economy figured out eh?

So what you are saying is the Biden presidency will be a bunch of recessions for the country?
Well, we're in one right now. We MIGHT have another one in 2023.
Here's the relevant difference between me and you:
1) I recognize bad things when my party is in power if there are bad things.
2) I do not obfuscate or run away from things just because it might be convenient. For example, many people only recognize the word of the NBER as the definer of a recession, so I COULD just jump on that wagon and say we're not in a recession because the NBER hasn't said we are. I don't roll that way though. My CORRECT opinion is that the two-consecutive quarters thing is a better and more immediate measure, so I use that, and since I have integrity, I use that no matter what, even if my party is in power.
3) I understand that a President has next to no power to affect the economy one way or the other. A President can implement polices that are either bad or good for people and business, can enter into agreements with other countries that are either good or bad, can set a good example or not to others with his (so far only 'his') behavior, but there is NOTHING that a President can do that will have any kind of significant effect on the economy. There are just way too many factors that a President has zero control over. The Fed chairman has WAY more power to affect the economy in the United States than a US President does...and even he/she doesn't have THAT much power.
So, in closing, it is possible we will have multiple recessions while Biden is in office. To that, I say, "meh." Has nothing to do with Biden and everything to do with the global economy.
The above said, Presidential elections DO turn primarily on how the economy is going...other factors too, but the economy is the biggest thing. If we are in a recession in the summer leading up to a Presidential election, that spells bad news for the party in power.
I am wondering what next the Libs will try to get Trump on ... The Mueller investigation was a nothingburger, the first impeachment was nothing, the second impeachment was nothing, Stormy Daniels was nothing, the Jan. 6 hearings were nothing, Mar-a-Lago raid was nothing, ... it just goes on and on and on ... they are deranged with him so I am sure they will come up with another Nothingburger. They are not the smartest tools in the shed but they ARE persistent.
You are foolish to believe Trump will continue to get away with his crimes just because he has in the past (I'm ignoring your misrepresentation of most of what you said there). And Maralago was nothing? Dude.

Class dismissed.
That was illuminating Professor Flagpole. When is your next class?
Good DOG!, you are stupid! Debt is cumulative. And the US has been running deficits forever. As such, debt has been increasing forever. Low point in Trump's admin was basically the day he took office. So he should get credit for everything that happened in the 250 years or so prior to when he took office?!?

Hard to keep up when you’ve been smoking weed and/or drinking alcohol for the majority of the last 7 years. Not as well read as I would like to be. Now letsrun is my drug.
Looks like Paul was being investigated before he was part of the Trump campaign, but it looks like he went down in large part due to his connection to Russian intelligence during the campaign itself. Seems to be self serving more than it is “for Trump” so I’ll give you that.
Michael Cohen is a criminal and went to jail for his criminal acts performed for his own benefit, not for Trump
of all your absurd posts this might be the most absurd
cohen and trump committed the exact same felony, together. Cohen did it for Trump. Literally. The. Same. Felony. Together.
Your post is ridiculous as are most of your posts.
Sorry agip.
Nothing he did was with or for Trump.
He is a criminal. Plain and simple
Here’s what Cohen admitted: Tax fraud The criminal information supplied by federal prosecutors charges Cohen with evasion of personal income tax from 2012 through 2016. Number of counts: 5
Prosecutors charged Cohen with making false statements to a financial institution in connection with a credit decision from about February 2015 through about April 2016. Number of counts: 1
Prosecutors charged Cohen with willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution from about June 2016 through about October 2016.
Maximum fine per count: $250,000, and a $100 mandatory special assessment Excessive campaign contributions Prosecutors charged Cohen with making an excessive campaign contribution on Oct. 27, 2016. Number of counts: 1

What the heck is Maralago? Mar-a-lago means sea to lake. I guess you are not fluent in spanish or Italian.

The US economy shrank by 0.6% during the second quarter of the year, according to the latest gross domestic product estimate from the Bureau of Economic Analysis released Thursday.

It's political persecution. The Obama DoJ and FBI's goal was to get rid of Trump.
They go after everyone in his orbit and threaten them with prison for something if they don't give them something on Trump.
These people aren't going to prison out of loyalty they are going to prison because there's nothing to give.

Trump is the unindicted co-conspirator to the same crime cohen committed. I know you don't care and won't read this, but you are not entitled to your own alternate facts.
President Donald Trump's former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen's Tuesday testimony under oath in federal court implicated his old boss as an unindicted co-conspirator to a crime. Under most circumstances, prosecutors would soon seek to file charges against Trump. But Trump is no ordinary subject. On Tuesday, Cohen, a man who worked alongside the president for more than a decade, admitted in federal court that Trump directed him to knowingly break the law to boost his own candidacy. Cohen was charged with eight counts, including two related to campaign-finance violations. Those counts, he said, involved Trump, as Cohen said he committed the campaign-finance violations "at the direction of the candidate" and with the "purpose of influencing the election."

I’m saying that Trump is insulated because he doesn’t do any of the dirty stuff himself. Michael Cohen is a good example of this. Sure, the Obama DoJ probably wanted to take him down and all that, but if you’re absolving Donald Trump of everything then I have a bridge to sell you.
I expect him, and his congress if necessary, to change the law.
Come on, that's pretty disingenuous. You know that he couldn't get 60 votes in the Senate. (And isn't a president's unilateral "chang[ing of] the law" precisely what Republicans are screaming about now?)
For all their noise about the border, the GOPers don't *want* things to improve there--so long as there's a Democrat in the White House. Abbott and DeSantis don't *really* care about the border--especially since most of the Americans who live there are "Mexicans" anyway--but it makes a great talking point as they head into their next election.
He could get 60 votes for something reasonable. And even if not, I expect him to *try*. He hasn't even tried.
Americans who live on the border have switched to voting GOP because they're the only ones who *do* (or even pretend to) care. Democrats lie and say the border is already secure over and over.
