I am wondering what next the Libs will try to get Trump on ... The Mueller investigation was a nothingburger, the first impeachment was nothing, the second impeachment was nothing, Stormy Daniels was nothing, the Jan. 6 hearings were nothing, Mar-a-Lago raid was nothing, ... it just goes on and on and on ... they are deranged with him so I am sure they will come up with another Nothingburger. They are not the smartest tools in the shed but they ARE persistent.

Lots of people have gone to jail for him. It’s not “nothing” but he’s definitely insulated from real consequences. Considering the Democrats are donating money to far right Trumpers, I’d say it’s likely that they are fine with him being free and running around poisoning the GOP

Who has gone to jail "for him"?
Michael Cohen, for starters. I was gonna say Roger Stone but he may have only spent a day in jail since he never had to go to prison. Paul Manafort did though.
I have no problem with the law's being fixed; but right now it *is* the law. Do you expect the Biden administration unilaterally to stop following it? Don't we have multiple people on this thread who are not okay with Biden's not following the law?
I expect him, and his congress if necessary, to change the law.
Come on, that's pretty disingenuous. You know that he couldn't get 60 votes in the Senate. (And isn't a president's unilateral "chang[ing of] the law" precisely what Republicans are screaming about now?)
For all their noise about the border, the GOPers don't *want* things to improve there--so long as there's a Democrat in the White House. Abbott and DeSantis don't *really* care about the border--especially since most of the Americans who live there are "Mexicans" anyway--but it makes a great talking point as they head into their next election.
Sure, Covid spiked Trump's number. But don't think that debt is currently increasing as a percent of GDP.
As GDP declines (which it is), it will.
That's not at all clear. I don't agree with Flagpole on much, but agree that GDP has probably grown in the past quarter (after its drops in the first two quarters of the year). So debt would have to be increasing in absolute terms, to be a higher percentage of GDP. Thus far, I haven't seen that. It *might* be true, but I don't think an untempered assertion that "it will" is reasonable at this point.

Keep in mind that GDP on this chart is not inflation adjusted. gdp will certainly grow in raw terms even if we do get a recession. inflation is a nation’s friend when it comes to debt. The debt becomes less valuable.
in numbers, if gdp falls 1% this year in real terms, if we have 6% inflation, raw gdp will still go up 5%. And look that way on this graph.
so the debt/gdp number will keep coming down unless spending spikes up again.

Biden’s changing of immigration policies is what led to the mass surge. He simply needs to revert to those policies that were in place before he took office. Stop acting like he is powerless in this matter.
Oh, come on. Biden *obeyed the law* in ways that his predecessor's administration didn't.
the economy is not great, but the jobs situation is. Once again, new claims for unemployment insurance come in very very low. pretty much anyone who wants a job can get on. For those of us who grew up with 6-8% unemployment, this is pretty amazing stuff.
And suggests GDP isn't really measuring the growth of the economy. Hard to see how this kind of job creation is going on during a recession.
Ryan Detrick, CMT @RyanDetrick Another surprising move lower for initial claims. An incredible 10 straight weeks less than expected. 193k from 209k, expected 215k. This is the lowest level since late April. Take note, recessions usually happen when this is going up, not down.
You righties aren't going to rewrite history on my watch.
The GOP is organized crime.
Many trumpers have been convicted. Many would still be in jail had not Trump pardoned them all, in a massively corrupt, unethical and unamerican pardoning wave.
Stone
Cohen
Flynn
Manafort
Gates
Papadopoulus
Bannon
Parscale
Broidy
Parnas
Fruman
I could go on and on. This is just a subset.
“I’m going to surround myself only with the best and most serious people,” Trump told The Washington Post in August 2015. “We want top of the line professionals.”
At least 18 people connected to President Trump have been locked up, indicted, or arrested since the real-estate mogul announced his candidacy in 2015.

Michael Cohen is a criminal and went to jail for his criminal acts performed for his own benefit, not for Trump
What color is the sky in your world?
Michael Cohen went to prison for doing Trump's bidding including FELONY Campaign Finance Law violations for which Trump was listed as "Individual-1." Trump was President at the time and the DOJ would not prosecute him for that felony.
All of the criminals in Trump's orbit who have spent time in prison did so because they were doing things for Trump at the behest of Trump, and the list of people is going to continue to lengthen.
It will include or has already included:
Bannon Stone Broidy Cohen Flynn Gates Manafort Papadopoulos Weisselberg Eric Trump (the most likely Trump offspring to go to prison) ALL of the insurrectionists including the idiot Proud Boys and Oath Keepers Leaders Meadows Giuliani
I'm not even including all of them...those are just off the top of my head.

Why no charges vs. Hillary et al for the Russian collusion hoax?
The Bidens for selling influence?
Obama being able to buy a $20 million plus house?
um, because not a hoax.
what if I told you....the head of the trump campaign met regularly with russian spies and handed over confidential campaign data so RU could help Trump get elected?
The link I posted has all the Republican crimes laid out for you.

As you know, I do say we are in a recession now, but we will come out of it with the report of the next quarter.
However, we very well might slip into another recession in 2023. A lot of analysts are predicting that right now.

Conspired? NO NO NO! Mueller and his team of top-notch Dems after many months investigating said NO CONSIPRACY/NO COLLUSION. Are you really still claiming this? Pathetic.

Hopefully it will be shallow.
So what you are saying is the Biden presidency will be a bunch of recessions for the country?
The point was religion isn't necessary to figure out that killing babies is wrong.
It isn't.
No. You are a hopelessly confused and inconsistent person. Here is the point:
1. You posted, in a scornful and derogatory way, that J. Christ's father (god) was a "magic man in the sky."
2. I later posted regarding Taylor-Greene that she would soon be "crying, looking up at J. Christ, beseeching a forgiveness He will never give."
3. You posted that my post (2, above) was me "spend[ing] [my] time hating religions." That would be a highly hypocritical statement (in addition to unsupported) in light of your post (1, above).
You should (1) strive to get some semblance of consistency in your political philosophies, (2) quite being a hypocrite, and (3) for Christ's goddam sake, quit bashing Christianity. There are some hardcore Christians here, and you are needlessly insulting them by calling their heavenly Father a "magic man in the sky." Am I clear on those three things that you need to work on? I do not want to see you back in this thread until those problem areas are cleared up.
It's rather "scornful" and ignorant of you to assume that the magic man in the sky could only be the god of the religion you like...
I was responding to a post that suggested only the religious nuts were pro-life. I was speaking to a narcissistic atheist so I used language he would understand.
I'm perfectly consistent.
I never bashed Christianity. You took it upon yourself to bring Christianity into the discussion. There's been THOUSANDS of magic men in the sky over the years.
If your faith is so delicate that a stranger referring to your god as a magic man in the shakes you to your core you weren't a big believer in the first place.
