a lot of people try and be the guardians for ultra distances just because they have run a few. It's obvious it's a little bit of uncharted territory but anyone that didn't think Jim could beat it or get close given his 50mile WB, marathon time, WS performances and general 50-100k trail ultra speed REALLY is has an ulterior motive and is hoping against the fact (or just they just don't know as much as they thought they did)... A little bit of tail wind and he would have breezed over the line less spent and with the WR.
