My friend tried arguing with me recently that a lot of elites are running well off of low mileage these days. I didn't want to argue, so I kind of just changed the subject, but from what I gather, pretty much no elite male marathoner in the world preps with less than 70mpw, and nearly all prep with more than 100mpw, some doing 120 to 150mpw. And, from what I gather, the mpw are only a bit lower for male elites running the 5000m and 10000m, like 100mpw is common, at least during certain times of the year.
Am I mistaken? Again, I'm talking top 100 in the world type runners. What say you?
