He wasn't anointed a messiah, he had to start in the trenches and work his way up to the position he's earned: a first-ballot, unanimous HoFer. Other winners like him and want to be around him. It's simply natural that he would attract lifelong fans. It's okay if haters come in here and take over this thread, they're just fans by another name because he commands their attention.
