I totally agree, the Peg 37 totally sucks. It feels mushy, clunky, and heavy. I stocked up on some Peg 36's. I found a coupon code on slickdeals.net about a month ago that reduced the price to $60 each directly on Nike.com. I ordered two pairs with this code, but only received one. Nike cancelled my second order for some reason.
I have been faithfully running in the Pegasus for 15+ years (with only a small Saucony flirtation around the 2008-2009 timeframe). I bought the Pegasus 37's the day the were released, and forced myself to put 250 miles on them before retiring them since they cost me $120.
I'm disappointed to see that the Pegasus 38 will be very similar to the 37s. Hoping for big changes in the 39.
The Peg 37 is such a polarizing shoe—some love it, and those like us who hate it. While I’m relatively new to the Pegasus line, having only run in the 35 and 36, the 36 is by far my favorite shoe of all time. I had also bought the 37s found it weird that they didn’t feel broken in after 100 miles, but 50 more made no difference. What saved me was randomly stopping by an outlet center with a Nike store, and bought 2 pairs... too bad I didn’t buy 4-5!
Here is to hoping for a 39 that is nothing like the 37 or 38.
