Has anyone actually tried to implement Lydiard training where your morning run is a literal hour long jog and then done your moderately not out of breath afternoon run/workout? I've been thinking about this and John Kellogg and similar training approaches and I feel like most people either go really slow in the morning AND afternoon or relatively fast for BOTH and call it lydiard. I'm not exactly sure how to phrase my question, but basically, is there an additional benefit to that really slow running and relatively fast running for easy days? Personally, I enjoy both and am thinking about switching to an approach that lines up more with this lydiard idea, but can't really find a lot about others doing this. For reference, I'm a sub 15 5k type and enjoy low/mid 6s for the afternoon and mid 8s for hour long jogs.
