NOT female
NOT female
No one is saying you have to call Eddie "she". She's made it clear she wants to be, so given that it's no skin off my nose either way, I would. It's just respectful.
For me, it's like when Ali shook off the Cassius Clay name. It's not like it was illegal to call him that any more, but it would be pretty disrespectful where he made a clear explanation of what he wanted and he would be perfectly within his rights not to answer to it.
Again, Eddie is not looking to compete or deprive a naturally born woman of a spot in any team, She just wants to raise a load of money for charity again. I don't find anything to object to in that.
Keep it on the first page!

More men should identify as women. It would mean that 'female' suicide rates, incarceration rates etc would rise, meaning that issues that presently largely affect men would be taken far more seriously. Spending on prostate cancer research, which is way less than for breast cancer, even though it kills more, would increase as prostate cancer would kill 'women' too.
Such a victim.

If only there was a movement to defund the police and focus on preventing the causes of crime.... Hmmm
Good post, I agree.

Good to see some people get it.
A lot of you should be calling yourselves “she” considering this article got your panties in a bunch.

Seems reasonable, I agree.
I listened to a podcast recently where Eddie described going back & forth from "boy mode" to "girl mode" several times each week or month for many years. Eddie said that she finally made the decision to go permanently into "girl mode".
Great comic, dedicated charity raiser. Doesn't seem to be hurting anybody.
Apparently Eddie does these running stints with little or no training. Just starts and then guts it out.
Track & field and LDR shouldn't have biological males competing in women's events, but like the previous poster said, Eddie isn't competing. So, go Eddie!
Hi Eddie!
Hi friend! You figured me out. Sub-8 Mile = Eddie Izzard.

Yeah, Eddie Izzard is posting on Letsrun.
Right.
Anyway, Eddie (either as "he" or as "she) is a funny, enjoyable comic. And these occasional running-for-charity efforts seem pretty cool. Eddie's personal preferences don't really bother me one way or another.
Seems like a decent person who contributes to society and raises lots of money. Keep it up, Eddie!
"she" has a d1ck
I used to be a big fan of hers in the 90's but when she comes out with things like 'I was going back from boy to girl mode several times a week' it really triggers me and makes me think she isn't as progressive as she thinks. Gender isn't binary - there are 71 different genders. This has been established for a long time now. Eddie seems to still be living in the 20th century. She needs to get with it or she might get cancelled.

Sure. Eddie would be a victim and a 'survivor' if somebody misgendered 'her' on Twitter, but being concerned about male suicide rates or underfunding for prostate cancer is being a pathetic victim and we need to 'man up'.
Jesus.
Don't worry, it will be soon be time for the Kenyan busts to start rolling out and we can agree again. :D

Too many people disappointed with the goods they were given.
You can understand a parent saying "we were hoping for a girl"...and then get on with raising a boy...
.....but for the boy himself, "I wanted a vagina "...that's mental, or used to be anyway, nowadays the shrinks have given up.
But, yes...you have balls...you are "He". End of story.

I have never heard of Britain’s most famous male/female comedian/comedienne until today.
As Lou Reed sang, “Take a walk on the wild side.” And then he sang something that may or may not be politically correct now. It’s really hard to keep up with PC.
Back to the marathon thing. Is there anyone in Britain with boots on the ground to make sure that she is doing 26 miles a day and isn’t scamming the charities. We’ve been through this before with at least three different British scammers.
BTW. When are they are going to return that RV to the rental company? It’s still sitting in the Walmart parking lot. It shows up on google maps and google earth for goodness sake.

Eddie is not Britains most famous comedian - Mr Bean is probably the most recognised and therefore famous comedian in the world. Cant stand him myself. Rowan Atkinson on the other hand is a genius, its just sad he got trapped in that one awful role.
Eddie used to be a brilliant comedian. Now he has joined the ranks of people destroying any credibility the labour party ever had - and this has nothing to do with gender fluidity - which appears to be his only credible point at the moment.
You dont have to actually do these marathons - you just have to identify as having done them.
In reality -- i am sure she will do them so good luck. I will try to watch one of the shows to see if i can change my opinion back to the place of reverence i once had for him.

No, because that means I have to lie. A rather childish lie too. And I won’t do that.
