Israel, UK, Germany and Denmark are doing very well in terms of vaccination right now.
Yet, as most European countries second wave daily death rates peaked in late November or early December, the above countries’ daily death rates have not gone down yet (even climbing). The UK and Germany daily death rate together equals half of the COVID deaths in Europe right now. France (for example) on the other hand which is doing terrible in terms of vaccination, is doing well in terms of daily and getting better every day.
Could it be that the COVID vaccine makes you more likely to be asymptomatic and hence community transmission is simply increasing as a result? If that’s the case, I guess that if you vaccinate the whole population super quickly (like Israel for example) you get out of that problem quickly also (but Israel is not there yet. End of March perhaps)
On the other hand, countries that are dragging out the vaccination process could be creating a problem. (A bunch of asymptomatic people walking around in offices or hospitals, giving COVID to others who have not been vaccinated yet)
The problem is that it will be tough to really know that. The second wave should pretty much naturally be ending (no matter what) by April, so stats will get confusing.
Just a thought...
Maybe i’m Right, maybe i’m Not right. It is a very interesting stat however.
