What is your 800 PR divided by your best all-out 200? I think it should be around 4.7 for someone who's best event is the 800. What do you think? I have run 1:58 and 24.5: 4.8 and I would say that my endurance is my weak side. List any other PRs that seem interesting to this discussion.

That seems pretty accurate. I’ve never raced an out of the blocks 200m but I would think I could run 24 flat or a little faster right now, and I should be able to go sub 1:55 this season.

2:00/23.9 = 5.02
400m - 50
600m - 1:25
I've always believed 600m is ideal distance for me, that time above was run on basketball court flooring. The others times were either outdoors or banked mondo.
On my 4x800 we had these ratios:
4.61 - was a very very good 2 miler but less speedy
4.77 - better at the mile than the 800m, but definitely not a 2 miler
4.68 - about equal 800m/mile -
The best way to get that number down is to run a slow 200.
In high school my ratio was 5.4.
I never ran the 200 or improved that PR in college, so improving my 800 got that ratio down to 4.9.
Had I not run the 200 seriously in 12th grade and my 11th grade 200 time was best, my ultimate ratio would have 4.6.
It’s rare that an 800 runner ever makes a serious attempt at a 200 PR.
