Similar cushioning, does the foam last?
Similar cushioning, does the foam last?
Assuming you are comparing it to a react zoom fly it can be an alternative but they are still very different shoes. Rincon is the firmest hoka ive tried. I’d say it offers similar speed to the zoom fly maybe a bit faster but it isn’t soft and springy like the zoom fly, although it has similar rigidity. If you are a heavy runner the foam won’t last long. Depends what exactly you are using the zoom fly for, I would say both the Clifton 7 and Bondi 7 feel closer but they lack the springy plate feel and would be much slower, although better training shoes imo. Better alternatives are probably carbon x 2 or saucony endorphin speed.
The rincon 2 is over rated. It is $115 but feels like it should be under $100. The endorphin speed is your shoe.
the rincon isn't comparable to the zoom fly series at all other than being in the "lightweight trainer" class.
zoom fly is a much more efficient shoe to run fast in at moderate to 10k pace. rincon is light but not particularly responsive.
zoom fly could get double the mileage too
echo the above posts. very different shoes. your closest comp is the saucony endorphin speed
