I got the Dragonflys around mid-December. I will say the more you're on your toes (mainly 400m under, semi 800-1600) the less effective they are. I ran my first meet in them today, 1600 PR 4:24 and then a 3200 9:27. I was surprised to see 30%~ of each field had the dragonflys and 2 of the 1600m runners had the Victories. What I'll say about there affect on my races: it's nice being able to run on my midfoot rather than my toes when I'm focusing on pacing, it really saves the calfs, especially on the 3200m where I'm pacing the first 2k~. The other thing to mention is the fact that they truly saved a good bit of my legs in the 1600 for the 3200, so great for doubles. I haven't tried the victories but can say I beat the other guys wearing them, and from watching pro 1500m races (ingerbristen/kiplimo/etc) choose the dragonflies over the victories despite the purpose of the victories specifically for 800-3k. I don't think they have a crazy impact on the world of track and field, and if you say but Cheptegei broke the 5k and 10k in them, I'd say the thing that helped him most was the lights on the track, but he's also a great runner. If you can get them do it, if you can't, you still have a chance. New Balance is to release their carbon plated spikes at some point (LD-X and MD-X).
